Emeralds are one of the four types of gems found in Diablo III.
Over the first months year of Diablo III3, Emeralds held the Emerald has proven most value (in Softcore) due to the most popular gem huge damage boost they add to upgradeweapons. This is only true during the end game, when characters have a high value in Critical hit Chance. At lower levels Rubies are much better weapon sockets, since and they become end game viable when Patch 1.0.7 greatly buffed their damage. Emeralds are also coveted by Demon Hunters and Monks benefit from for the +Dexterity, and boost when socketed in armor. Emeralds are little-used in helms since all classes prefer the +Critical HitGold Find damage as is not a much-sought after stat. It's been suggested that the best helm bonus in high level weaponsshould be doubled or tripled, to make it more desirable to players.
Emerald Changes
