Leah is the girl from the cinematic trailer, and She was also mentioned by name as a companion of Deckard Cain in the first gameplay trailer, released at the Paris WWI in 2008, with the game's debut. The In that gameplay movie, when the Barbarian says rescues Cain, he tells Cain to hurry back to Deckard Cain that the village since Leah worries for about him (Leah was confirmed as her name when Blizzard called her that in an official wallpaper). It seems that Leah gave the player the quest to rescue Deckard Cain in the catacombs below the old Tristram Cathedral.
Leah is referred to (not by name) in one of the writings of Abd al-Hazir. The narrator of those writings met Leahs' father, Pablo DeSoto, in the village of Wortham while investigating the Gnarled Walkers. :I likewise found it odd that there seemed to be only elderly people in the village, with the exception of one beautiful young woman whose father was quite insistent I keep my distance from her. Though he was rude on this point, I found him to be a rather sociable sort once convinced I was not interested in his daughter. He introduced himself as Pablo DeSoto
Related to her, Abd mentions her in his 20th entry of his writings, concerning the village of Wortham and Gnarled Walkers:

Speculation
There was speculation going about that Leah, the girl from the cinematic trailer, is actually the daughter of Pablo DeSoto mentioned in the lore, and in the writing's of Abd al-Hazir as presented on Blizzard's website. This was ultimately confirmed to be that. Other speculations include  Leah being is the new narratorof the Diablo 3 introductory cinematic, Cainin which she appears, as a witness to the meteor crashing down through the Tristram Cathedral. It's not known if she'll be a major figure in the game's daughter plot, or apprenticewill even appear in the cinematic beyond her voice over role in the introductory movie.  ==Media==
Leah has only been seen in ]http://diablo.incgamers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=772&title=diablo-3-archivist-screenshot&cat=560 one screenshot] so far, but from that and other evidence it's assumed that she will appear in the game as an NPC. She has been seen in numerous cinematic images and pieces of concept art.
Be as it may, it is clear that there is some significance to the appearance on the cinematic trailer, as these take a substantial amount of time to prepare* [http://diablo.incgamers.com/gallery/search.
