Crowd control

Crowd control or CC is mostly an RPG term for taking care of large amounts of enemies at once. It can also mean to taking care of fewer, like "more than one".

Examples

Spells or skills that affect many enemies at once, or occupies one or more enemies rather than damaging them, are called crowd control skills/spells. It can be a summoned pet just occupying a foe, or an AoE spell slowing enemies, or freezing them.
