The Ancient Tome is an old Tome in Diablo I found within the Chamber of Bone on Level 6 of the Catacombs. It is guarded by Horror Captains and Horned Demons.
If the player reads the tome, is bestows the Ancient Guardian spell, and thus completes the quest.
