Arcane Power on Critical Hit, or ApoC is an item affix that refills some amount (usually 8-10) of the Arcane Power resource to the Wizard for some percent of the Critical Hits she scores. (This modifier pairs nicely with the most popular Wizard passive skill, Critical Mass.)

The various Wizard skills have different (hidden) proc rates for APoC and all other procs, so don't expect ApoC to function on every single critical hit. If it did no Wizard with this modifier would ever be other than 100% full of Arcane Power, as constantly as Wizard's can deal AoE damage to multiple targets.

  • APoC can occur as a random modifier on wands and sources, and is also found as an inherent mod on some legendary items, such as Chantodo's Will (db).

Bug Fixes

A bug with this ability triggering too often from procs with some skills cropped up in v1.07, and was fixed soon afterwards in Patch 1.07a.[1][2]

Upcoming Hotfix to Arcane Power on Crit

During the development of patch 1.0.7, a Wizard bug relating to DiabloWikiArcane Power on Crit was introduced when we fixed a bug that was causing Blizzard to not DiabloWikiproc it at all.

The good news is, as of patch 1.0.7, Blizzard can now trigger Arcane Power on Crit! The bad news is, by fixing the bug with Blizzard, we introduced a new bug that was causing DiabloWikiArchon: Disintegration Wave, DiabloWikiDisintegrate, DiabloWikiEnergy Twister, DiabloWikiMeteor, and DiabloWikiRay of Frost to trigger Arcane Power on Crit twice per proc rather than once per proc, resulting in a higher than normal proc rate. We plan on fixing this bug very soon, and wanted to give you a heads-up about it.

APoC is an inherent mod on The Oculus legendary Source and a number of other legendary Wizard sources and wands.
