'''Shrines''' are randomly-located, randomly-spawned objects that characters can click to receive temporary buffs.  Shrine effects pass to all players in the area when they are first triggered. All shrine benefits last for 120 seconds, and characters can benefit from multiple different shrines at once. Shrine bonuses and durations do not stack, and hitting a second shrine of the same type will simply reset the time to the full two minute duration.

Empowered Shrines provide a two minute bonus that increases a character's resource regeneration rate, and also reduces the length of skill cooldowns. All resources are boosted in regeneration rate save for the Demon Hunter's Discipline which receives no bonus from this shrine.

The utility of this shrine varies greatly between classes and builds. Some characters using low-cost builds receive little benefit, while others using a lot of resources can greatly improve their performance.

A Demon Hunter with a shrine buff.

Types of Shrines[edit | edit source]

Pylons are super shrines found only in Rifts. They grant larger bonuses for a short 30 second duration.
