::::Ah, interesting. This is likely a thing the authors didn;t really consider much. I guess the easiest way is to make a combined article for now, just called Cathedral of Light with all related info there. You mentioned Inarius. I suppose we'll have to add a lot of Inarius on both articles, as it's strongly related. If the religion in the book is mostly about him, there will be some double writing, basically. --Leord 11:25, 16 June 2010 (UTC) | ::::Ah, interesting. Welcome[edit source]
Hey there! Nice edits. We really needed those pics. Visit Help to see what you can do here. And post your problems on Leord's talk page. :) --TheWanderer 23:50, 2 November 2009 (CET)
- TheWanderer is right, very useful indeed. needed those :) Got any previous wiki experience? Think you could help with more image uploads? :) --Leord 16:08, 3 November 2009 (CET)
- Thanks for the welcome :) Thought it was time i shared some of my knowledge of diablo lore :)). I have little/some experience regarding wikis. I could try to get more pictures out, however I don't know where they're needed. I could spend some time to find those. --Zukker 20:25, 3 November 2009 (CET)
- I'd say about 10% of pages have all the pics they need. :) You could just go through the D2 cinematics and take shots of important figures, places etc, and make sure we have pics of those in the wiki. Or, just go random a few times. :)
- If you also have lore skills, looking at Diablo I Manual, Diablo II Manual and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Manual and adding links there, as well as filling out any red ones (or just filling out regular ones) is also very useful. There's been numerous retcons over the years, and some articles still have outdated lore. --Leord 11:22, 4 November 2009 (CET)
Continued nice job![edit source]
I saw your edits, and I made a few updates to them. Remember to add to any new character you make as well as NPX navbox. The latter is also good to edit to add the new character to the navigation. Just put it under the headline you htink fits, in alphabetical order. OR, just add the page, the category and navbox, and leave a message on my talk page, and I can add the character to the navigation. :) Great job over all! --Leord 11:35, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Ah I will try to remember that :). Totally forgot it when i was adding some more lore. I focused on the information and forgot to add those little things. --Zukker 12:00, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, that happens all the time. No problems! Also, try to add links to any related interesting page, like known brothers, sisters or other family. It's also important to add these links on both ends, so you can navigate around easily even without using the NPC navbox.
- I know that navbox is becoming a biiiiit overly populated, and we'll look in to making that more induitive a bit later :) --Leord 12:39, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I will try to remember doing that :) Atleast to the extent that I know. I will also fix the reference to the books of kalan btw. I have it at home, unfortunately I'm not there atm.
- Yeah i noticed that the navbox is getting a bit cluttered, and nice that you're doing something about it (or at least realize that there's a problem). -- Zukker 12:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for late reply, didn't see it before now! Yeah, well, I'm not doing anything with it yet. The thing is, I'm unsure on exactly how to do it. The best thing would be some sort of script installed on the site that allows for like "tabs" on the navbox or something, rather than having one massive box. Without tabs, I can't really see what we could do about it...
- So, what's your next edit? :) --Leord 16:41, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Heh my next edit, I have no idea actually, either I go random or something or find a topic which have been missed. However I'm quite busy with work and school atm so I don't know when I have time :( --Zukker 08:02, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
- Job sucks! :( Well, if you need any inspiration, just check out the Wanted pages ;) --Leord 14:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Just gonna say many of the wanted pages only need a line or two :) --Leord 14:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
Lore[edit source]
I can see you're updating now, very cool! :) Some of that I did not even know at all. Now, could you add a category to Time of Troubles? I think Category:Lore and Category:Reference would be good. Perhaps even Category:Zakarum? --Leord 11:56, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Forgot! We really need a Triune article. If you can just add in all old info, I can help with references to the new Cultists later, but you're more than free to do that as well. Put the article in Category:Factions, Category:Paramilitary groups, Category:Religious groups and Category:Prime Evils if you do start it. :) --Leord 11:58, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Heh, got some spare time and I was a little bored so I thought i could do some stuff here and there. The problem with Time of Troubles is that I'm not sure if it's speculation, fact or canon so I didn't want to put a category to it. But a Category:Zakarum would probably be the best choice imo.
- I'm going to try to fix something about the Triune and Catherdral of light, however I'm going to skim through the books again so I know little more where to start :) And unfortunately I don't have them here right now, I'll see what I can do tonight. --Zukker 12:06, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, absolutely brilliant! I mean, I can see it's a start, but even just adding text means myself, or Masofarian, Cogo, Holyknight3000 or someone else can format some of that to be more "wikish" or help you do it. :)
- As for several of the articles, I meant you should add the actual category, not a link to it, it's my bad. :) Just remove the ":" in the link, like this: , but without the nowiki.
- I'll make another message if I can think of anything. :)--Leord 16:43, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Triune/Light[edit source]
Oki, short, but I thought of something. Check out Help:Category for little help. Also, isn't the Triune the *religion* as such and Temple of Triune a physical location? They need to be treated differently. I mean the Temple of Triune would talk about everything we know of the temple, how it was built, what has happened there, architecture (if possible) etc, while Triune is about the religion, including that it's a front.
Same thing ofc goes for the Temple of Light. Is that really the name of the religion, or is it an actual temple? --Leord 16:46, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well I suck at categories :P. Well actually I don't know, in the Sin War Books the religion of Triune is both referred as just Triune or Temple of Triune.
- And the same goes for Cathedral of Light as it's the only name that is used in those books, and referred in a way that you consider that as its name. However this doesn't mean that I'm right, this is my interpretation of the books. --Zukker 19:28, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, interesting. Is there every a LOCATION that is referred to the same name? Or do the cathedrals have other names? Is there ever another name for the religion, like "Followers of Light" or the like? In the case of the Triune, it's just easier to have "Triune" as the main article, and refer the "Temple" version as a location. Among others because "Triune" as a word is also used with the new cultists, although drastically different.
- I mean that the "Cathedral of Light" might be a metaphorical "place", and to join the religion you enter the "Cathedral of Light", and just to confuse people, it's also the name of the actual cathedral. If that's the case we'll simply have to make 2 articles: Cathedral of Light (location) and Cathedral of Light (religion). Cathedral of Light will be a disambiguation article. --Leord 16:44, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- I don't get the second sentence o.O. Since i just skimmed the books recently I can't be 100% sure that the phrase like "Followers of Light" doesn't occur, however if i recall correctly it doesn't. There are referred as "Believers", which goes both ways: If a "human" speak to a High Inquisitor (Light) he will refer to him/her as a believer if there is a affiliation with the light and heretic if for triune. Same goes for a High Priest (or the like) in the triune. The phrase "Follower of the Cult" does occur a few times iirc. However I would like someone else that has access or recently read the Sin War Trilogy to confirm this.
- The problem with the "Cathedral of Light" is that there isn't much talk going about the religion as a whole, there more focus on The Prophet (Inarius) and that's one of the reasons it's so short. And as I see it, both the religion and the place is referred as the same name, this I'll have to confirm myself though, since now that you brought it up i became unsure. --Zukker 06:37, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
