Elixirs were announced as a Diablo 3 item in 2008, but they have not been seen since 2009, and may no longer be included in the game.
Strength and Dexterity elixirs were been seen in the 2008 Blizzcon demo. At that time, those elixirs provided a 300 second boost to that one attribute.
A Vitality and a Willpower elixir were seen to drop during the 2008 WWI gameplay trailer. It is suspected that these would give a boost very much like the known values of the Strength and Dexterity elixirs.
Elixirs have ranks, which are represented by a Roman Numeral notation at the end of the name. It's not known if higher level elixirs increase the duration, effect, or both.
