Use this boilerplate article as a guideline on how to make Monster articles.

If you have already read all the instructions in this boilerplate, you might find it easier to use the copy+paste article to, copy and paste to your new article:

First add a brief intro about the article, above all the headlines. Make sure to have the name of the article in the first three words of the first sentence, and bold it. Keep it as short and descriptive as possible. One or two lines of text.


If the article is a fan class, fan monster, fan skill, make sure to add the {{fanclass}} {{fanmonster}} {{fanskill}} header template. Also add the "|Name_of_author" attribute to give credit to the author, or yourself, whomever originally came up with the idea. Also credit any fan artists that might have helped.

List all the spells or abilities the character has that is beyond "auto-attack".


Known NPC X Types

Describe similar NPCs of the type this one is. For example, a city guard with sword, halberd or bow. It describes their roles.

  • Use only where applicable.
  • Display the different types of NPCs, like weapon/equipment carried, or behaviour difference.
  • Example: Warrior, Archer, Mage.


Known Subtypes

Use only if there are NPC X Types. It describes "sub-family" NPC articles, like their rank.

  • Use only where applicable.
  • Use for things like rank/clan/colouring of same type of NPC.
  • Example: Moon Clan, Blood Clan, Death Clan.


Related Characters (and Monsters)

List any Non-Player Characters that has a relevance, such as other similar NPCs, pets or monsters. Like Franklin Burroughs and Dune Threshers. Keep it to in-game relations.


Personality

Explain the character's personality. Can be extensive.


Background

Lore section. Writing style should be "in-world" encyclopaedic. Section can be long, and it should have appropriate sub-headers. Use headings from the Charbox.


Friends

List friends. Not limited to interactions in the games, but include books as well as rumours, but make sure rumours are marked as such.


Foes

List friends. Not limited to interactions in the games, but include books as well as rumours, but make sure rumours are marked as such.


Other Related People

List anyone not included in friends/foes. Not limited to interactions in the games, but include books as well as rumours, but make sure rumours are marked as such.


Previous Appearances

Add this section if you can discuss Diablo I or II NPC of the same name/type. Link to D2W as well as other D3W articles as needed.


Development

Notes from development of monster. Might have changed between games, or during Alpha/Beta/Release stages.
