The Blacksmith is one of the Artisan's in Diablo 3. He travels with you and others almost everywhere and he never changes. He will help you at buying weapons and armor but also socket and craft your items,repair your stuff, and talking about the events happening in the world.

Getting the Blacksmith

When you start the game,the character doesn't have a blacksmith.You can accuire them by completing a quest that is given by them.After that the blacksmith is all yours.

Crafting

All artisan's have the crafting feature in Diablo 3.The blacksmith focuses on crafting weapons and armor.The crafting feature let's you buy an item with 2 or more random properties that will be shown after you buy the item and wait a little amount of time while the weapon is crafted.For the crafting option,besides paying money you have to give the blacksmith some resources.

Repairing

This feature wasn't show in the blacksmith presentation but probably it repair your weapons and armor that were damaged in battle.

Socketing

This feature of the blacksmith let's you socket any weapon or armor even if they are rare or part of a set.

Training

While the blacksmith travels along in your journeys,you can upgrade his level offering some money and resources.As he grows up in level he can bring much more powerful weapons and stronger armor.You can even tell him what type of weapon to bring and he will always bring that type and don't worry,you can always change the type of weapon he can bring.
