Ogden was an innkeeper in Tristram when Diablo first was freed from his Soulstone. He and his wife Garda are presumed dead. He was a NPC in Diablo I
Background
Ogden had owned and been running the Rising Sun Inn and Tavern for almost four years before the hero who later destroyed Diablo arrived. He purchased it just a few short months before everything started to go sour in Tristram.
He and his wife Garda did not have the money to leave as they invested all they had in making a life for themselves in Khanduras. He was considered a good man with a deep sense of responsibility by Deckard Cain who lived there at the time.
Ogden is presumed dead after the demonic attack on Tristram where only Cain is known to have survived.
In Diablo I
Ogden gives new characters his standard "thank goodness you've returned, my friend" speech, and then fades into irrelevance. He is not a merchant, so does not buy or sell anything, but gives a quest reward for one quest in singleplayer, Ogden's Sign.
If the heroes in Diablo ever slept or ate, he'd be a lot more useful.
Ogden is unfortunately (for him) one of the Diablo I NPCs that are believed to have been killed in the demon attack on Tristram.
