I had to archive my talk page, it was getting too long. Welcome to the new one, feel free to leave any messages at the bottom of the page!

You can find the old one [[User talk:Leord/1|here]]. Please don't edit that one! :P If you want to continue on older topics, make a new one and bring it up like if it was a new one. I brought over a few topics that are a bit recent.

Thank you for the touch-ups you did to the Alchemist page. As an English major, I was in agony over making such a mistake as putting "theirselves". If there are any other problems with the page, please feel free to correct them. I have not had much experience in writing webpages, but I am learning. Also, if you have any ideas, I am very open to imput. I do have a question:  Is '''diablowiki.net''' connected to '''diii.net'''? I have noticed that my Alchemist page has appeared there as well, I wanted to make sure they were allowed to do so. -- 21:25, 8 July 2009 [[User:Kire|Kire]]

: You're quite welcome! :) Any edits in the wiki, you can get help in the [[Help|help section]]. As for Talk page comments, you can simply sign them with the press of a key, more info [[Help:Talk|here]].

: Diii.net is running DiabloWiki, but the contribs here does not necessarily have any connections with Diii.net. As for classes, do you mean [http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=731429 this one]? Doesn't look like it's the same, other than the name. :) As for "allowed", I am not sure what you mean. It's the internet, and you probably don't have a trademark for Alchemist. ;) Other than that, we don't impose any special user rights other than normal law. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:49, 9 July 2009 (CEST)

::For what I can find, anything on this Wiki is completely uncopyrighted, so it's basically right-to-copy.

I peek back and find.. 1500 spam posts. I don't think blocking the individual accounts will help much; they seem to make an account per post. Semi-blocking account creation (putting the Page Creation right into a usergroup that's only granted to real users by hand) for a few days may or may not help; it would at least stop them from making more pages. I don't think you're going to be able to wait this one out. <br />
 +
Also, are you going to delete the spam pages, or just leave them there? (just curious) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 10:52, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

::::Thanks again for clearing that up! And I do recognize that people are free to copy and edit anything on the site, so I'm not trying to lay claim to it. Sorry if I sounded like a jealous user -I think I was just shocked to see links to the Alchemist page on other sites so quickly. I need to also thank you for the link you gave me to the forum at Diii.net on Alchemists. I am now in touch with users with similar interests to my own! --[[User:Kire|Kire]] 11:27, 9 July 2009 (CEST)

:Hey man! Indeed so. We've been spammed. Not 1500, more like a few hundred (280 or so). I have now manually banned them all, I hope no real users were banned in the process. Will start deleting pages now. Rushster was adamant to not have manual confirmation of users, so that's not happening, but he has installed Re-Captcha, and the second that went live, it seemed to stop, so good tidings. This could have gone on for a week if we were unlucky!

:::::Cool! Yeah, things I do tend to get popular quick. Great to be back online as well. Been a horrible 2 odd weeks! --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:51, 6 August 2009 (CEST)

:I Don't think you have permissions to delete pages, but if you do, go ahead and help me delete them. :)

:: Noticed. He's blocked now. I don't know if that helps. thatnks for keeping my talk page clean. Need to start archiving now as well :P
+
::::Yeah, 1500 was a... slight hyperbole :) Good to hear the spambot(s) has (have) been stopped.
 +
::::I cannot delete pages. Way back then you couldn't find the user rights page, and then we derailed the topic I think. Oh well, doing fine without :P
 +
::::Not sure which navboxes you are referring to. Haven't really looked at content pages lately because Blizzard hasn't really released anything (anxiously awaiting BlizzCon), so if you're referring to navboxes on content pages, I haven't seen them yet. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:59, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

:: As for the skills, it's pretty easy to see which ones are made by looking at the skill navboxes for the wizard. I am literally doing one tree at the time, going through it from first to last :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:51, 6 August 2009 (CEST)

:::::Well, I [http://diablowiki.net/index.php?title=Special%3AUserRights&user=Vipermagi know how to do it] now, but that means you'd have Admin rights. I trust you, but I don't think we can make you admin, as you're not THAT much in to the whole thing, and we haven't spoken that much... I'll have to discuss with Flux & Elly :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:32, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

::::::But you forgot how to link ;) You guys should be able to make another usergroup that only has Delete rights, or anything else really. As for my interest, I still check pretty much every non-fanmade-space edit that pours through the wiki. I'm no good at adding content, though (what, where, how? No idea), so I don't make many edits. With new content comes new typos however, and that's the gist of what I've fixed up around here ^^
 +
::::::So how about those navboxes you mentioned?
 +
::::::EDIT: Oh. The class navbox, I presume. That's pretty awesome. Personally find it a tidbit annoying that the size of it changes dynamically due to the tabbing and different sizes of those, but it's a minor issue at best. Now to hope the spell names don't go too long so the box doesn't stretch in width :) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:19, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

::::Absolutely awesome. As we finalize these, we'll start making more wiki updates on the front of Diii.net as well. We took a big hit for the downtime, no time to spare to get it back! --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:04, 6 August 2009 (CEST)

:::::::Personally, I don't mind much, but I can see your point. As for the skills, there's no other plausible way, and also, no point in spending loads of time on something that will change in October. I'd much rather re-visit it then. I don't think spell names will be a major deal tbh. Will just have to change the cell widths about a bit if that's the case. OR, if it's a long name, it's usually multiple words, not one long word, so it will break to two lines or the like.

:::::::As for edits, what about you perhaps help me with like making individual item pages for Uniques and Set items in the D2 wiki? It's a fairly straight-forward job, and mostly copy+pasting. Not likely you will make mistakes. ;) It's not great fun, but very very useful in the long run. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 10:28, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
[[Conjured_Health#Synergies]]. CH synergizes with Mirror Image, not the other way around; I figured that header would be for skills that synergize with the skill you're looking at? Makes more sense to me. What's your thoughts on this case? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 19:24, 6 August 2009 (CEST)

:Well, my idea was to have the term "synergy" to basically list all spells that are directly related. I'm using an old term because people are familiar with it. I am fairly certain there will be no "generally synergistic" spells like in Diablo II. You will have the 1 Rank spells (for Wizard) and then the 15 rank Skills. Possibly 2-15 varies between skills, but that basic design. A bit like skills and talents in one tree, talking in WoW terms (I should make an article about that!). --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:30, 7 August 2009 (CEST)
+
::::::::What <!--uniques-->where<!--are they and where do they go--> and how<!--should it look-->? :p --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:12, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

:What do you think? I am very open for suggestions at this stage :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:30, 7 August 2009 (CEST)

::I just find listing affected skills on passives a bit redundant, since the direct effect is listed in both Background and Description.
+
==Uniques and Set Items==
::Also, on skill ranks: Base will be 5 max, and it's possible to get a higher cap (10 and 15) for an X amount of skills (unknown X). --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 14:51, 7 August 2009 (CEST)
+
Like [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Special:Contributions/Leord this], the Trang-Oul stuff etc. All those items. I have made some quite advanced templates for it, that will work for D3 later as well (hopefully).

:::We'll see about the base. Most Wizard skills are 15. As for listing, I like it. It's like the official list with all things affecting or affected by it. If someone wants to reference a spell, it's great to have it in a standardised place, if you can't be bothered to look for the link in BG/Description etc. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:58, 7 August 2009 (CEST)
+
:So I take, for example, [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Bul-Kathos%27_Children BK's two swords]. I put the two swords on the Set page in the new template (ex. [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/index.php?title=The_Disciple&diff=next&oldid=18946 here]), create two new pages (1 per sword), and put the sword data and background in a mold (ex. [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Telling_of_Beads here]).
 +
:Did I get that right, miss anything? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:29, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

::::A Bashiok quote on skill point caps:

:One important addition to this is the skill caps themselves. Currently we're envisioning the majority of skills to be capped at 5 points, to begin with. As a form of progression we're planning for players to be able to increase the point caps of skills. More than likely to a maximum of 15. It's a system that's still under heavy design, but the fact of choosing and increasing key skills beyond their initial cap is important to this new unified tier system.</pre>

::::So, most Wizard skills are actually 5 :P

::::As for the list: Okay. It's not like I'll die over the redundancy :) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 15:25, 7 August 2009 (CEST)

:::::Cool. We'll we will have to update this as we move along. Could you make a short paragraph in the [[skill]]s article about the tier system? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 15:27, 7 August 2009 (CEST)
+
::Yes, awesome, it's amazing to ask someone to do something and they understand without massive explanations! :D However, if you do have questions on how some of the templates work, ask me. There might be info missing on the help sections. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:31, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

==Skill / Skill tree / Tier==
+
:::I guess previous experience with content splitting helps a little ;) I'll drop you a line somewhere if I can't figure it out. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:33, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
[[Skill#Earlier_Info]] has a link to [[Skill_tree]] which has info on Skill [[tier]]s.

We could either split up Skill tree and Tier into two articles, or keep it on one page. I'm fine with either (leaning slightly towards one page; A lot of small pages tend to be harder to navigate). Pick your poison. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 19:33, 7 August 2009 (CEST)

 +
::::Massive love your way man. I'd really liked to have been done with it ages ago, but just have not had the time!

:I was almost thinking we should include all pages to one, like [[skill]]s and [[skill tree]]s really are very closely related. either that, or a lot more interlinking and some sort of navigation. That page would be pretty long though...
+
::::It may look a little bit weird without "background", but you can probably find most of the lore for these things, if they exist, in the D3Wiki, or else just leave it looking a little weird, and I can help with lore.
:If we just try to summarize the quotes a bit (since wikipedia and other wikis don't really quote much anyway), it would make the article a lot shorter... What are your thoughts? As it is now, it's definitely a little bit too confusing. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:32, 10 August 2009 (CEST)

::Just dumping the info on both pages together would make a huge article, yes, but it would have a ton of redundancy too. The page won't be all that long once you remove all the duplicate information (that's another pro of having 1 page over several: Less repeated info :) ). Then again, when is a page long, and when is it not?
+
::::I suggest just making one piece of background for all of the pieces, and paste it in, to save time, that's what I did. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:38, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
::We could make one page in the userspace or wherever to see how long it'd be after removing all redundancy. It would also be a better page for format testing than the page the site's visitors read ;)

::In the end I'm for one page and redirects to that page (and headers on that page if they work). --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 13:58, 10 August 2009 (CEST)

:::Oki, I agree. You think you got tome to do it? My next major DW push will be skills again. --17:14, 10 August 2009 Leord

::::I have a lot of Tomes to do stuff ;) Will get to skill pages tomorrow. by the way.

::::[[User:Vipermagi/Skill]] and [[User:Vipermagi/Skill2]]. The first is done (unless there's information missing currently?), the latter is not (yet). --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 21:15, 10 August 2009 (CEST)

:::::Looks very good. We will implement it a bit later then. :) One thing I didn't understand: What's left to do? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 15:12, 12 August 2009 (CEST)

I have deleted [[skill tree]] and made all info on it available on [[Skill]] instead. It makes more sense, who would look at "skill tree" for that info anyway? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 19:03, 16 September 2009 (CEST)

==Skill table==

[[Power of the Battlemaster]] now just has a bulleted list of it's effect. The header is misleading though, as it promised a table. Ideas? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:19, 11 August 2009 (CEST)

:Yes, that's true. The idea is to have a table there in the future, and a bullet point list is what we do before we have proper info. I'd say we keep the name atm. Just so it fits when it's all "upgraded" properly.

:On a sidenote, don't write <void> on Description. Just write what is known. Look at the [[Boilerplate:Skill/copy]] article, and use that as inspiration. You can always write something. Also, a little blurb at the top of the page is good as well. Just take the [[Boilerplate:Skill/copy]] one, and replace class, skills, and then add a few words at the end of it :) This will also make sure to put the infobox underneath the ad.

:You can also add "(presumed)" for rank 4 and 5 of the skill, like I did with many of the arcane skills. If you have 3 ranks info, then you can probably figure out the other ranks stats. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 15:12, 12 August 2009 (CEST)

==Im back, baby!==

Hey leord, im back... was absent because there werent any juicy news about diablo 3, so i went away... im like a bear, i do my thing during specific times... Anyway i have a few suggestions, then im off to editing some articles and adding new ones...http://www.diablowiki.net/skins/common/images/button_sig.png

A: This wiki needs an IRC channel, hosted on quakenet, if possible, it would be much easier for editors/people to go to the channel, and ask questions there... like how to edit articles, or to report any mistakes that we might have made... please say yes

B: There is no B...

C: No C too...

== Meli back.... ==

Hi Leord,

I am back to do updates to both Wizard and Monk, from the large news posts on diii.net which detail the full skill trees. Alot to throw out and alot to add. I will leave all the skill pages that are becoming obsolete for the moment just as they. Might be reuseable when they change skill setup again. Otherwise i am updateing all the related pages and also navigation boxes where needed.

Been fiddling with Witch doctor and Wizard already. Will take 1-2 evenings to get it all done though.

regards, meli --[[User:Melianor|Melianor]] 13:57, 31 August 2009 (CEST)

:Hello Melianor, great to see you! (and the great updates!)

:Yes, we'll keep/make skills of the old skills, but put them in an archive of some sort later on, so don't set any of them for deletion! :) I will join you in editing in a few minutes ;) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:34, 1 September 2009 (CEST)

:Weird. I know the /FAQ is some special page in the wiki, not a regular article... --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:45, 4 September 2009 (CEST)

:[[Diablo III FAQ]]: this is the actual FAQ. the [[FAQ]] article is some sort of special Wiki thing. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:15, 8 September 2009 (CEST)

::I know; that's why I linked you to the &edit page, so you could access the old information. I didn't know wether you might wanted to transplant it :> The DIII Faq has the same information, though, so I suppose you don't need it anymore. [[FAQ]] is also unlinked beyond this page, so all is well. Redirecting it didn't work, sadly. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:33, 8 September 2009 (CEST)

:::Yeh, no I think I tried fiddling with it last year, and gave up, adding a new FAQ with another name :) If you find out how to make use of [[FAQ]], don't be shy :P --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:13, 8 September 2009 (CEST)

::::I can tell you no other wiki I visit uses the FAQ page at all (page never created), and none of those have the odd plain text. Since I can't: Maybe try a delete? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:41, 8 September 2009 (CEST)

:::::It will likely just delete the article I made. The thing is, the site obviously redirects the [[FAQ]] url to some other place than the actual article. I have no idea why. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 20:08, 8 September 2009 (CEST)

Hello everyone!<br>

I am a self-taught artist. I just signed in Diablo Wiki and I still don't know how to operate here. I was invited here by Targetgamer. I have many ideas about Diablo 3 and I have posted them in the Battle.net forums. Targretgamer read them and invited me here. As soon i get used to the tools here I will post my ideas on this site. In the meantime you can see my ideas in the battle.net forums. I have ideas in both Suggestions and Diablo 3 forums. Some people there think that I am a spammer, because my post are too long. I hope that people here will be more patient and read more of my ideas. <br>

: OH, awesome! I am actually Targetgamer on Battle.net. It's my old Starcraft nickname, but I go by Leord on most other places.

: First off, general ideas and stuff is hard to add to the wiki, unless they have a popular support. However, stuff like monsters, we can make a page for, that looks like an official monster, but is more like a fan idea. I did this with [[fan class]]es, which has turned out marvellous. So basically, we could make a [[Fan class]] out of the Dragon Warrior. Just go to [[Fan class:Dragon Warrior]], where I pasted a standardised text you can help me fill out.

: You have basically everything ready to go, so it will mostly be copy+pasting. The standard text uses Wizard mostly, so you need to replace any Wizard skill names etc with Dragon Warrior skills. Now, if you have any self-made concept art, check out the help page called [[Help:Image]], and add them to the wiki.

: The background of the class needs more breaks, so it's not just one block of text. You need more air in it. Also, since [[Lut Gholein]] etc are real places, and [[Abd al-Hazir]] really exist in the gameworld, you can easily link to them in the wiki! Just check [[Help:Markup]] for how to make links!

: If you need help, myself and others are around. Just post a comment on my talk page, most people follow that. My idea is that when you made a proper [[Fan class]] out of the Dragon Warrior, we'll move on to the monsters, and we'll create a system to make fan monsters as well. That way you get a dedicated page with a good design on the biggest Diablo info database, and you can easily link it on Battle.net forums, or other Diablo fan forums.

: It's good if you fiddle around a bit before we start making a new type of page though :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:23, 30 September 2009 (CEST)

:: Also! I just thought about that wonderful map you made. I doubt enough other people will make additional world maps to be an actual new section of the wiki, but what you can do is heading over to [http://www.diii.net/ Diii.net], which is the biggest Diablo fansite, and posting it in their [http://www.diii.net/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=503 fan art gallery] and in the forum. I know Bashiok has said he visits the page. Same with the duel system suggestion. You will likely get much better discussion than on Battle.net, where there is a lot of trolls. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:30, 30 September 2009 (CEST)

:::'''Thank you!'''

:::Thank you, Leord! I am really happy that you appreciate my effords.

:::My goal is to make Blizzard create the things I've invented or at least get their attention.

:::I will we very grateful if you help me with this.

:::I will be able to edit the Dragon Warrior, but this will happen after some days. I actually am a fan without PC - I have played Blizzard games in internet clubs and I post my stuff from a friend's computer, but I can visit him per two days for just 3 hours a day. That's why I will ask you to edit the page if you don't want to wait for me. You can contact me on my E-mail /listed on my profile/ to receive further information about the Dragon Warrior skills and different skill tree names which I heve not invented yet.

::::Cool man :)

::::I am unfortunately busy doing other things at the wiki, but I did start up the [[Fan class]] program here together with [[Holyknight3000]]. I can help you with technical stuff, but the actual content you need to add yourself. How come you don't have internet? o.O

::::Nice to see you around anyway, and just leave a message here if you have any questions or concerns. If you finish off the Dragon Warrior, I'll make sure to create a nice template for how to make monster after! :)

== Diablo3wiki.org ==

Actually I didn't start a new wiki. It was already there. And I already have contributed on that wiki alot. I kinda tried to ressurect it from the dead, but I think that the wiki is a lost cause.

I'll gladly contribute to this wiki. And if you need the help to manage this wiki, you can count me in. I do have some wiki experience(most of it is style related).

:I guess I'll just ask if they can delete/merge diablo3wiki.org --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 23:20, 1 October 2009 (CEST)

::Awesome! :) I am so happy! We're not that many wiki enthusiasts that also like Diablo, so it seems silly to split the effort. Also, the DiabloWiki.net has roots back to 1998, with old Diabloii.net's info pages. A lot here is on Diablo2.Diablowiki.net, and info has been around for a decade.

::Lots of it needs a facelift though, and lots of D3 info that needs adding :)

::I'd say you should try to get www.diablo3wiki.org changed to redirect to DiabloWiki.net, and then just leave the Diablo 3 wiki on wikia. If anyone else finds it there and start edits, perhaps we can add them to the greater project here as well, like Vipermagi and you!

::I'll start looking through all pages on Diablo3.wikia and try to get anything I can, besides images. Perhaps you can do a second trip to make sure we're not missing out on anything good? Next job here in DiabloWiki will be to update all [[monster]] pages to make sure they all use the [[Boilerplate:Monster|boilerplate]], and also add monsters we have concept art of, but no names. Best to have them in here, and we can just rename them and add some info if Blizz release lore material for it. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:44, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

:::Do you work with Stub categories here? Or is it just search and rescue? If it is the last one I can upload stub templates. It's a bit easier because all still to be edited pages will all be put in one category --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 12:27, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

::::There is just one Stub type category here at the moment. If you would like to help out making the art of stubbing more advanced, that sounds like a lovely idea. Make sure to explain any new stuff you make on the [[Help:Stub]] page as well. Easier to tell people what is new with that.

::::I have been meaning to do a stub facelift for ages, but I've not had the chance. Also, Templates in general need to be better categorised etc. You can see my work at structuring the wiki on [[Help:Structure]]. :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 12:31, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

::::By the way, I looked through the wiki, and added a little info on the [[Deckard Cain]] article, and some other minor things. Good to know we got it covered. :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:23, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

==Gameplan==

Uhm maybe it's a smart Idea to copy some templates from wikia. Or at least look if we can use some, or just look for Ideas?? :P --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 17:14, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

:Yeah, sure, for ideas if nothing else. I'd rather look at Wikipedia for guidance, though... My main point here was more the categorisation etc. But feel free to do it however you want.

:As for templates, they are currently working pretty good, we just need to increase more navboxes, and my point was if we should categorise the templates, not so much taking anything from Wikia. :) What do you think? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:25, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

::Well catogorizing them should be no problem. Since collecting+updating our wikicontent wouldn't be much of a problem. I'd like to look for new styles. Because the first think I see when I go to main page (it might be just me) is a big mess. Only when I take a better look I find info. So we need to do something about that. If you like I can try making a entire new Mainpage (or entire new skin). Not that this skin is bad, it's good.. in fact it is very good. But it still can be perfected. And I'd like to start helping this wiki by making it easy to read/easy to find/easy to see info. Tell me what you think of it/what your gameplan is. I'd probably tag in on ya --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 18:14, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

:::Remaking it completely seems like a very big job for something that isn't sure to have a great effect. I know we currently lack good navigation as it is. What would you primarily like to change on the front page? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 18:18, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

::::For starters? Less links. and maybe lose the how to help and/or the did you know part? That makes it a lot easier to read --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 19:59, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

:::::Personally don't mind the HtH/DYK? sections. I do agree on the links-to-text ratio. It's a big brick of links currently. Changing the skill tree lists to a small line or note like the following could work:

<pre>For information on [[character]] [[skills]], check out the following pages:

*[[Barbarian Skills]]

*[[Monk Skills]]

*etc.</pre>

:::::I'd be more inclined to read text than links myself.

:::::On the other hand, I never use the main page (RC is my navigation tool), so I might not be the one to ask for help on organisation ^^" Meh, you guys decide what you want and I'll be fine with it regardless (unless you make it pink or blue). Just spouting ideas around randomly. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 20:08, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

::::::What about

{|Border=1;width=33%;

|Character classes

|-

|

*[[Barbarian]] ([[Barbarian_skills|skills]])

*[[Monk]] ([[Monk_skills|skills]])

*[[Wizard]] ([[Wizard_skills|skills]])

*[[Witch Doctor]] ([[Witch_Doctor_skills|skills]])

*[[Archivist]] ([[Archivist_skills|skills]])

*[[Other classes|Unanounced Classes]]

|}

Simplicity is the best. And don't forget: The Mainpage is your trademark... If it's F-ed up they think the wiki is F-ed up.

::::::And for creating a new template we can also put that as a side project. When there is nothing to do... God bless boredom --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 20:34, 2 October 2009 (CEST)

:::::::There are several advantages with having it there. It's easy navigation if you go there etc. The question is how much it's used. I took the idea from some other big wiki ages past. The thing is, I just got access to the top menus, perhaps we should just put it in there, with dropdowns for stuff, and put something like "How to find info" in the links section, pointing people up to the menu? In the meanwhile, I am going to finish off the last Wizard skills now. You're all very welcome to help out, just check the [[Boilerplate:Skill]] --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:30, 5 October 2009 (CEST)

:::::::: There is a planned nav box for the left hand side which I was discussing with one of the other admins over the weekend. We were thinking of offering two skins. This one with some tweakage to volume of links and another with the main navigation being on the left, as is standard, both on the main page and within. This would allow us to take even more links off the body and leave that more for features.  I agree the 'How to' could be trimmed right back, maybe even just to a small box with "How to help" and some essential links to orientate newcomers.

:::::::: I like the 'Did you know' feature. As long as it has slightly more obscure facts I think people like it. --[[User:Elly|Elly]] 17:54, 5 October 2009 (CEST)<br>

:::::::::I think a more organized main page would be nice. When you think about it, a lot of the page is everywhere. yes it is organized,  but i think a more improved main page would be nice,  and whatever template/style you guys choose i think will be fine.--[[User:Holyknight3000|holyknight3000]] 07:24, 6 October 2009 (CEST) <br>

::::::::::If anyone wants to make some test main pages that are improved that would be helpful -- [[User:Elly|Elly]] 23:35, 6 October 2009 (CEST)

===Plans Right Now===

What we'll do for right now then, I think, is making the new menu changes to the top of the wiki, and see what rush comes up with for the classic skin. When we have that done, we'll see what the front page could need in terms of change.

In the meanwhile, it could be cool to hear suggestion on how to change the "how to help" section, and also perhaps list a good menu structure for the top of the page? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:37, 6 October 2009 (CEST)

:I just realized I made some notes on that:

:''We need a "Help Out" tab, with links to wanted pages etc, and also to help. Perhaps rename/remove Quick Links.''

== Some suggestiond and one idea ==

Hey Leord, how are you?

First I'm going to answer your question on why I have no computer and Internet - the answer is simple - poverty. I am a poor student that gets a scholarship of 60 euro per month. My parents have retired and get some pensions of 150 euro per month each. The money is just not enough to buy a PC. But we don't give up. My brother and I will econcmize money an after six months maybe we'll buy one computer. Until then I'm just gonna sit in Internet clubs.

I have a suggestion about the picture upload. Can you do this?: When you type <add picture> a dialog box appears and allows you to browse your computer and upload the file in the <add picture> location. Is it possible to be programmed? I am pretty sure that it is.

And the idea:

I wandered what to do so the efforts of the fans with the fan classes not to go in vain. And here is what I invented:

Why don't we offer Blizzard to make an entirely new Diablo game called Diablo 3 Fan Edition? It will contain classes and monsters made by fans and there will also be an entirely new continent /Angarock/ for the story of the game, made by fans /me/. The contributing fans may do the beta testing and stuff.

What do you think?

--16:25, 6 October 2009 Veskin7 Bukito

:Ah, sorry to hear about that, Veskin7 Bukito, and I hope it works out for you and your brother :)

:Yes, it's easy enough to upload images, but you do it slightly different. Check out [[Help:Image]]s. I have written the article to help people adding images. What you do then is almost exactly what you said. :)

:Fan classes, fan art, fan fiction and all things created by fans will never be done in vain. It's an integral part of the community, and it's the kind of stuff Blizzard takes inspiration from when they create thing in the game. We can definitely ask them to make these classes in some special edition, but the primary reason we put them here is to tantalize and be fun for the community. The development time to even make ONE of these fan classes to a real hero is pretty big, and they would not do it unless they felt enough thousands of people would buy in to it.

:They generally don't take entire ideas by people for their content, but are ''inspired''. However, if the fan classes by fans are added here, they will be left on the internet permanently, and perhaps inspiring Blizzard in upcoming expansions or perhaps Diablo 4 some time in 10 years. :) The whole reason I started encouraging fans to add their work here is so that it should not have been done in vain. It will always be here, available for fans and Blizzard alike.

:Never think all your work is in vain! You have shown that you have an open and active imagination, and is capable of writing. Perhaps your ideas will inspire Blizzard, perhaps not, but it's not that important, because you can create more!

:Perhaps you should consider trying to write fan fiction based on [[Sanctuary]], and the official world, or some short story about one of the countries in your Angarock continent? Either way, I think you should concentrate on making it as nice and detailed as possible, and available on DiabloWiki, so you can link it to people in the community or perhaps to friends on MSN etc. :) Give it a proper home, and make sure it's very nice and polished. :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 18:41, 6 October 2009 (CEST)

:Re, image idea: It ''may'' possible, but it takes a lot of time to make it work without bugging up, and we'd need to find someone extremely skilled and willing. We're better off directing people to [[special:upload]]/[[help:Image]]. An image needs it's own page, so the script will have to:

:* Recognise the <add image> 'tag'

:* Pop up a window that only looks for .jpegs/etc. by default

:* Pop a window that asks for the page name*

:* Check if the name isn't taken**

:* Upload the image under the chosen name

:** Possibly add proper tags/categories

:* Replace <add picture> with the proper link.

: *= If everyone uploads images without a descriptive name, it's hard to discern one from another. This also causes naming conflicts; When an image is uploaded to a name that is already used, it will override/remove the old image. This can be reverted, but it's a hassle.

: **=An image database is usually not fully up to date. The wiki software is hardcoded to flush the lists (i.e. update) once a day. Since the list is most likely not up to date, it's possible the script doesn't notice an image name is taken, and thus uploads the image over the old image.

:Additionally, the script will slow down page loading somewhat, which is more often than not unnecessary. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 19:01, 6 October 2009 (CEST)

::Aha, now I understand :) Now we're not going to add such a script. Perhaps later, when other critical; things are fixed. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:24, 7 October 2009 (CEST)

:::Writing such a script shouldn't be such a problem. But Viper is right what we need are a few people that script for this wiki. We have enough people to add the content (for the moment). I don't know if any1 here has acces to the scripts? But the person that you want to add those scripts should have it. And also Leord, if u want me to redesign some of the wiki parts (like the mainpage) maybe you should give me some rights as well?

:::The scripting: I think we should wait a bit with that. Untill we have the correct style and everything

:::P.S; the reason I don't react that often/update content atm is because I am a bit busy with school.. Will change in a couple of days --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 22:52, 7 October 2009 (CEST)

::::edit: I'd also like to see a few functions on this wiki but like Leord said we first need to do the primary things and then think about the secondary things --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 23:55, 7 October 2009 (CEST)

:::::Awesome. As for the script specifically, I just can't see the need for it, and creating a new possible way for hackers to try and gain access to the site (yes, we're often under attack) isn't a positive either. Not saying anyone here would fail at the scripting, just saying the more ways there are to upload stuff or do ANYTHING on the server, the more possible security holes appear.

:::::Good to know we'll see more of you soon, fighter :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:41, 8 October 2009 (CEST)

== Let's do it! ==

Hey, Leord!

The page of the Dragon Warrior is almost complete. I only have to add some skills and the pictures.

BTW can we proceed with creating Fan Monsters page?

And one more question: Do I create a new topic in the Battle.net forums called "Diablo 3 Fan Edition" and describe the idea and add links? I suggest there should be a vote for different classes, so Blizzard pick and create the best, and also a vote for creating Angarock. When I have more time, I will describe the idea thoroughly. -- 20:19, 11 October 2009 Veskin7 Bukito

: Hello!

: First off, you need to sign your talk page posts. Check out [[Help:Talk]] on how to do that :)

: Secondly, I want you to understand that you will likely not get a great strong reaction from asking people about this, other than admiration from doing a great job. Most likely, Blizzard will not create new classes or continents 100% based on fan input. Among reasons include the legal one: If they would take your world, they would have to pay you copyright money. So. Instead, they will *possibly* take some inspiration from you, and other fan artists, and make their own stuff.

: So, I really like the Fan Monster idea, and I'll get on it later today probably, but it will be hard to get Blizzard to use material created by fans.

: Having said that, it would be really cool with a fan class contest! Like, people make Fan Classes on DW.net, and we decide a winner. Then, hopefully, Blizzard takes note of it, and perhaps incorporate some of those ideas in the game later on! However, it would be cool with some sort of prize then... --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:52, 12 October 2009 (CEST)

== The Aurian Mage project ==

Hello, Leord. <br>

I have been working on a new Fan class called Aurian Mage. I invented more than 30 skills for one night and the class is almost ready. <br>

Can you please create a sample fan class page called  Fan Class:Aurian Mage and add link to the fan classs category, just like you did with the Dragon Warrior?

Thank you.

Veskin7 Bukito 15 October 2009

:Awesome! Oki, I created the [[Fan class:Aurian Mage|Aurian Mage]], and it's ready to go. Just remember to make a sub-page for any links you create, like on the [[Fan_class:Dragon Warrior|Dragon Warrior]]. Meaning a <nowiki>[[Fan_class:Dragon Warrior/Skill Tree 1]]</nowiki> for example. :) Mind you, I have added it to the Fan class category, but it's not visible in the navigation box until you're done. I'll make it visible as soon as you added your info :)

:Also, you can easily make name + time stamp on any talk page posts you make by adding "<nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki>" at the end. When you press submit, the site recognises that string and replaces it with name + time + date :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:58, 16 October 2009 (CEST)

::Another thing. When you're done, don't forget to make a post on Battle.net about it. I'll help you bump the thread there if you give me the url ;) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:59, 16 October 2009 (CEST)

:Stick to info released by blizzard. Things may have changed. Also most of the info on this week needs to be confirmed so u can't copy/paste from D2W --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 12:51, 17 October 2009 (CEST)

::You can use any source anywhere, as long as any speculation is clearly stated as speculation. Sources from D2W are pretty reliable, so go ahead. Do link the source in the references section though! Also, if something is debated to be true or not, make sure to point that out as well.

::In general, D2W is free to just copy. What you can do in addition to that is to check out what pages link to a certain D2W page, and change the link to a D3W page, or link to D3W for the lore. Just use [[Template:Iw]] (<nowiki>{{iw|Article_name Article name}}</nowiki> - will look like this: {{iw|Andariel Andariel}}. Since we'll keep the D3W more up to date on lore etc.

You seem to have made your previous talk page disappear entirely (as in, not even an archive). Was this your intention? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 17:50, 21 October 2009 (CEST)

:With the new German wiki incoming, I accidentally deleted pages as I thought the wikis had been separated (try http://de.diablowiki.net/ which works, but is the same database as www). Restored it now, but lost history I think... --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 18:05, 21 October 2009 (CEST)

== About Fan Monsters ==

Hey, Leord, I have two questions about Fan Monsters:

1/ Is it possible to accept my form of monster description /the one shown in the battle.net forum/?

Here it is:

CLASS -Specify monster class - often met, rarely met, weak, tough, very tough, miniboss, boss or whatever else class you wish.

APPEARANCE - Describe how the monster looks - colours and other specific things.

SIZE - Specify the size of the monster - height/lenght and other specific things.

DESCRIPTION, BEHAVIOUR AND SKILLS - Describe the monster's behaviour, where is it met and its skills one by one.

SOUNDS - describe what sounds does your creature make.

DEATH - describe how exactly does your monster die.

ITEMS DROPPED - describe what kind of items does your monster drop when killed.

EXPERIENCE - say how much experience does your monster give when killed - few, medium, lots or whatever else you say.

2/ I think there is a mistake in your example when you tell us how to create a new fan monster in the [[Fan monster]]s category. You said that we should just type the name of the monster like http://www.diablowiki.net/Fan_class:Banana_Hammock . Maybe it should be

http://www.diablowiki.net/Fan_monster:Banana_Hammock ?

I just wandered if you made a mistake... Am I right?

--[[User:Veskin7 Bukito|Veskin7 Bukito]] 01:06, 25 October 2009 (CEST)

::Heya!

::'''First off:''' The idea was to make the monster articles look similar to the REAL monster articles. Like for the [[skeleton]] etc. You can make the fan monster any way you want, but I would recommend just copying [[Boilerplate:Monster/copy]], and using that as a template. If you need instructions on how to use it, check out [[Boilerplate:Monster]].

::Most of the headlines you mentioned, you can put as sub-headlines to the '''"Diablo II Monster"''' headline.

::'''Secondly:''' Yes, that was a typo, I corrected it :)

Hey, Leord, I just uploaded the first fan monster. Check out the [[Fan monster:Death Claw]]. Now you can update the Fan monster category by making a category box like the fan class category. I also found a solution about my form of monster description - I added the Death Claw Detailed Description in which I describe the monster my way. See if you can edit something in the Death Claw page...

:Hehe, it's actually the SECOND monster. You were beaten by the [[Fan monster:Brutal Beast|Brutal Beast]] by a few days ;)

:Anyway, I have added your article to the navigation, and I cleaned it up a bit, removing sections, and hiding some. Remember to use the "copy" version instead of the main boilerplate. The copy version has everything ready to go, and sections not often used are hidden.

:Other than that, looking mighty fine! :D --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:09, 29 October 2009 (CET)

== Finally!!! ==

I have some spare time now.. So... Do you have any technical problems/issues/whatever you want fixed or technical things created? Want me to start making a new layout for the frontpage? Want me to create new templates etc. etc. Give me some orders and I'll check if possible then get it done if possible ;). I'll check your page tomorrow again. --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 21:52, 8 November 2009 (CET)

:Why start later?

:Using: [[Template:The_Key_header]] as an example. Wouldn't it be smarter to catogorize it in [[Fanmade/Template:The_Key_header]] so it would show up as Fanmade/Template:The_Key_header in RC that would make it clear about who is deleting/editing what.

::P.S: This site's lay out is <s>f*cked</s> --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 22:01, 8 November 2009 (CET)

:::If you put the template in (Main:)Fanmade/, you would need to use <nowiki>{{Fanmade/Template:The_Key_Header}}</nowiki> to insert it on pages. That's obscure and weird if you ask me :P It's also moved out of the Template: namespace that way. Doesn't matter too much, but usually when looking for templates used in actual articles, you look in the Template: [[Special:Prefixindex|prefix-index]], rather than that of non-existant articles ([[Fanmade]] does not exist (yet)). --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 11:57, 9 November 2009 (CET)

:::Awesome! Nice to see you having more spare time. :) The [[Main Page]] is of course a quite sensitive topic, as it's just about the most important page on the wiki. If you have design ideas, just whip up a really simple sketch in paint or the like, and upload it for us all to see. What I'm saying it it's needs to be an open debate, so don;t spend too much time on any one idea before talking to the rest of us for input. :)

:::As Vipermagi points out, it would break the regular prefixes to use  slashes in the name for templates. I know the categorisation of templates could use some work, but we're probably not going to change things too much. Also, we're likely not adding Fanmade or other prefix at the moment.

:::I'd very much appreciate if you were a little bit more specific with feedback if there is something (like the layout) that is to your disliking. Is there something actually bugged, or is it a general layout choice you dislike?

:::There's plenty of other things you can do that doesn't require input from the rest of us though! There are several monsters in the [http://www.diii.net/gallery Diii.net's gallery] that don't have their own monster pages for instance. Many of the current monsters and skills need pictures. We need to add more lore entries from the [[Diablo I Manual]],  [[Diablo II Manual]], [[Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Manual]] etc. The [[Timeline]] can be filled out with mroe entries from current lore. We have [[:Category:Factions|factions]], and [[:Category:Ethnic groups|ethnic groups]] etc, that really need to have a bit more clear category structure, and navbox etc.

:::I have just updated the menus of the wiki, so you can now find almost anything you want directly from the menu. Please help with feedback on whatever could be useful. Also, let's continue to discuss the new main page, but lets not lose focus on making the wiki's *content* the best on the net as well :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 12:14, 9 November 2009 (CET)

::::With layout I mean de links on the navigation boxes and stuff :P. Anyways I'll start with making a new lay out in paint. And I'll create a discussion topic for it. After that I'll check out the diablo II lore because I got the manuals here. --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 10:12, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

:No, go right ahead! :) Is that a real monster from the videos, or one you have invented? If it's a real monster, just class it as Demon, I think. There's no proper classification yet, so just go with what is most likely :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:55, 9 November 2009 (CET)

:::::How do I list 1h ''and'' 2h damage in the Itembox? Looked around the code, but it seems to only accept two values; melee once and ranged once. BK's Sacred Charge can be wielded in one hand as well. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 17:05, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

::::::Long story short: I had to go (which is why I didn't get other sets done today), so I kept the edit hoping for the 2h/1h damage business to be explained, and now I have to shut down the computer. I'm going to save the edits, and check back tomorrow. Additionally, I'll probably split a couple other sets as well tomorrow. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 20:37, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

I do NOT know they are all Patch 1.10, but if you add a "?", it kind of fucks up. I am fairly certain they are all 1.10, so if they are not, more skilled people than us can update them imho. If we choose not to display patch, just comment out that choice instead of "?".

While Looking at the site (The navboxes in particular). I realised that this site could use some changes. So what I wanna do is the following:

*Create a new Front page (Naming it something like /NewMainpage (can be deleted after I'm done).

*Redesigning navboxes (naming the templates with things like /NpcNavbox2 and putting them on 1 page).

*Let people think and consider if they want the old designs or the new designs.

Tell me what you think and if you're okay with it I'll start with the proces. --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 23:03, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

:Hey, I forgot to reply to you too :)
+
::::::::Oki, thanks for a nice chat on MSN. :) I have updated the articles {{iw|Arcanna's_Tricks Arcanna's Tricks}} articles, and set an example there. Now we just need to do the rest.

:First off, always create test pages on your user page, like <nowiki>[[User:Fighterbitsj/Main_Page]]</nowiki>. Good idea is also to link to it from your user page so you don't forget that it exists. :) Secondly, I'm not really looking to make a main page overhaul, unless you have something spectacular in mind. This is why I thought just doing a quick sketch in MS Paint or whatever to let me get an idea of where you were going was smart. Other than that, It's really only "Key Pages" that's planned to be changed now when most articles are presented in the top menus.
+
::::::::I will be focusing on nav boxes for the next few weeks, but I will be keeping an eye on what you're doing, and don't hesitate to contact me again on MSN or here. I'll see you tomorrow. :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:05, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

:Navboxes are really meant to be properly redesigned using both parsing and some simple java scripts, so we can use "tabs" and the like. I'm not sure spending time on a redesign in the interim is a project well spent time on. Same there though, if you have an idea that makes tabbing of navigation obsolete, I'd love to hear/see it. Make a <nowiki>[[User:Fighterbitsj/Navbox]]</nowiki> page so we can see what you're thinking.
+

:What we REALLY need though is improving lore pages. Regardless of if you know much about Diablo lore or not, it's usually not somethign that is required. Just open one of the manuals, look at a section, make sure any relevant words are linked up, and that any of those links include the info of that section. almost always there's a lot to add, be it new characters, locations or the like. You can also check the [[http://www.diablowiki.net/Special:Wantedpages Wantedpages]], and add articles that way.
+
: Weeee! --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:55, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

:A second thing we really need is images. Loads of pages, like [[Lut Gholein]] could use mroe descriptive imagery, and especially the [[skill]]s. All skills should have at least one image on them each.

:So, basically, show us your ideas before you start spending loads of time into coding a main page or a new navbox, and let everyone comment on it, then go. In the meanwhile, there's loads of other work needing to be done in the wiki that is just as important. :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:45, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

==Monster Pictures DII==
 +
I added some pictures to some demons at the d2 wiki, think most of the demons have pictures now. But for some reason I didn't manage to place the pictures correctly, they just ended up behind some text and what not. So i put them under statistics which probably isn't the best position, but what the hell, it's better than no picture at all! Someone who knows this better than me are free to fix it :) --[[User:Zukker|Zukker]] 11:07, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

::Sigh I'm having a little time out again since both my laptop and my desktop are broken (what are the odds of that??). --[[User:Fighterbitsj|Fighterbitsj]] 14:44, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

:::Massive ouchness! :) Well, doodle a bit on a piece of paper on your planned designs, so you can do it quickly when you have access to a proper PC, or check out the manuals and look at the missing pages etc. Plan ahead ;) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 15:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
+
:Oh, brilliant. Should not have been missing in the first place, ofc! :) One idea is to simply put them at the very very top of the page, with this code: <nowiki>[[File:VenomLord.jpg|thumb|right|Venom Lord in-game]]</nowiki> Like, put it on the first line, and have just one line break before the rest of the text and wiki code. Take a look at [[Megademon]] for an example - I updated it.

== OMG ==
+
:Also, while you're at it, could you fix wrong headlines? Like when they have <nowiki>=</nowiki> instead of <nowiki>==</nowiki>... You basically just add one "<nowiki>=</nowiki>" per headline. :)

Hey, Leord, what is that long menu that stretches from the sky to the ground in the wiki site? It's quite uncomfortable. I wonder if someone has edited the site without permission. What is happening?

::Fixed both the images and the headlines, hope things look better :). There is a lot of monsters that is missing images. I'll see when I have more time on my hands to fix those.

:Hey Ailelya! No probs mate. :) It might have been a situation where we had probs with backups in ancient times, but never the less, let's get to the topic at hand!

:::::Good point, I have no idea. I do the same thing. Sure, there's an error here or there then, when it IS a bigger edit, but something I can live with. It will be less errors this way. Is this a filter that's possible in a wiki? Otherwise it will be having to wait for a new page we were thinking of creating, listing wiki changes etc.
+
:I have actually not yet made proper "templates" for these items yet (we call them [[Help:Boilerplate|boilerplates]] on a wiki though...). Me, Vipermagi (and sometimes Masofarian and/or Cogo) have done updates, and simply used older items as base.

:::::BTW, we REALLY need to be able to use images without them linking to themselves all the time. Did you know how to fix that? --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:20, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
+
:Take a look at the {{iw|Template:Itembox Itembox}}. It's the main template used on item pages. It's way to complex for me to ask you to edit it, but if you look at the "Legend" there, it has all the variables briefly explained. Of course, you'd have to use slightly different variables on uniques than your average Item Set, but quite similar.

::::::Well, in RC you can filter out Minor edits with a toggle (add &hideminor=1, or click the button in RC Options, second row). I have no idea how the feed works exactly, though, so I don't know what would and wouldn't work.
+
:It's probably best if you try starting with creating an Item Set. The most polished one to use as a "template" for making new pages would be {{iw|M'avina's_Battle_Hymn M'avina's_Battle_Hymn}}. Take a look at how the main page is done by clicking "edit", and then each sub-page, and do it as similar as possible. Just copy all the code to your new page, and start updating it from there. Don't be afraid to ask me or Vipermagi for help.
::::::As for the images: Do you mean that the images are effectively hyperlinks to the image's page? I've seen a method to make the image link to the current page, but it's irreliable (it doesn't like namespaces much...); I'll ask around to see if there's a simple method that doesn't mess up. Do you want a brute image link disable (i.e. images simple never link), or a case-by-case application? I don't know if the former is possible, but who knows. --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:01, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Thyiad is not here on DW, and if you look at the main menu (perhaps you need Ctrl+F5), we've even removed that connection to Diii.net. We're linking all sites that help the wiki on the front page, which Diii.net is included, but we're our own wiki.

Hey Leord, I recently edited the Legacy of blood page and wanted to upload and image of the book cover however i encountered a problem. But the file does have an extension (tried .jpg .png and .gif) and there  is a file, I've tried several diffrent versions also (various sources including my own copy).Any ideas? --[[User:Zukker|Zukker]] 15:29, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

:Does the path in the Source field have an extension, and does the Filename have the same extension? Additionally, when you receive an error and use the Back button in your browser, it's best to refresh the page to avoid problems. The wiki software doesn't quite like cached results ;) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 15:40, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

::Thanks for the reply, Viper! If I was you, Zukker, I'd put in the code in the page first, save it, and then click the red link of the image to upload it. That way it's usually right. Just remember to have the file ending the SAME both for the actual file and in the code, like Viper said. Awesome job so far! :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:51, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Leord, I have news that you may not like.

:::Ah viper i'll try that. Leord thats exactly what i did and i ran into problems. Alright that didn't work either, the extension is the same and the filename is the same...i'm pondering why this won't work :( --[[User:Zukker|Zukker]] 18:58, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

I had proposed my ideas in Blizzard forums just as you know. There was no response from them, not a word. I have dreams here - i wish these ideas to be realized in some game, I wish to play with the characters I created. But this will not happen in Blizzard games. That's what I see. Since the lack of interest from Blizzard side and according to the thing that my ideas are more suitalbe for another game by Bio Ware, I think that I will delete my Fan Class Propositions and some monsters too. Also the Avien Continent.

::::Hmm... I just uploaded [[:File:Four pixels of awesome.jpg|this]] image. What extension does the image have? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 19:15, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes the axe is falling now and soon I will ask of you to remove the links. I am sorry for all this, but after a deep reflection I decided to do it. There is no point to feed hopes for nothing and giving your best to someone that doesn't even dare to say his opinion. So... that's it. Actually the links may remain but this message will be everywhere replacing the text and pictures.

:::::It's worked before that's the weird thing. The file is a normal .jpg, but tried both .gif and .png --[[User:Zukker|Zukker]] 19:55, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

I wish to thank you for your appreciation and all the help you provided. You are the best, man! And I really apologize for this. But I have to chase my dreams and seems like Blizzard are not going to help me.
:::::EDIT: Now it seemed to work...when i manually went to the upload page...awell

::::::Still very weird. Can you send it to my e-mail? Leord at incgamers dot com, and I'll do the same, just to see of there's a difference. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 13:34, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

:Hey Veskin7 Bukito,

::Thanks :P --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 10:50, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

:I'm sorry you have received no replies from Blizzard, but I see no point deleting your content. Fan classes, fan monsters and other things related to fan-made content is just that - fanmade. I doubt Blizzard (or BioWare, or other developers) would use any material not made by their employees due to copyright issues. Also, think about it. If you already published the monsters (and they appear later) that's spoiling story arcs etc.

:::Could you thank me on my talk page? Or just edit it and add a space somewhere, doesn't really matter. Need to test something with the New Messages box :P --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 17:31, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
+
:If you want to be part of the creative process of creating games, you need to get yourself employed by them. This is super-hard, but with the right motivation, you can do anything.

::::Cheers (also, good luck with [[User_talk:Vipermagi#Java_etc|the implementation]] :D ) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:51, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
+
:The content you have created here works as great inspiration to others, and creates a rich fan-environment. While it's unlikely any monster or class you created here will be taken on to a game directly (Diablo or otherwise), it's definitely possible that some ideas and concepts related to them might be. I think it would be a great shame to lose out of some of the community creations because Blizzard did not pick it up.

:::::Yeah, need to ask Rush how to actually put in the java stuff :) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 17:14, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
+
:Besides, having some of your stuff published on a site shows that you have creativity and imagination. While you might not be able to use these monsters specifically - unless you create your own game - they work fine as a "portfolio" for you that you can link people and possible employers to.

== Finally! ==
+
:You have spent a great deal of energy on these cool creations, and I think it's a waste to not let people enjoy them. Look at each page: thousands of people have seen them, and you get your name out there. That is one of the most important aspects to ever get a foothold in the industry.

Hey what's up people!
+
:Honestly, I think you should continue to make fan content while you are trying to get in to Blizzard or BioWare. It's great practice to make you better at thinking creatively, to draw and to write. Or, at the very least, keep these up as a permanent advertisement of "I am Veskin7 Bukito, and I am obviously creative!" --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 09:48, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I finally got a PC and Internet!!!

Phew! Now I feel like I live in the 21th century. I felt like in the 13th century before i had a PC.

Now my contributions here will be updated faster. Although I will not work on my Diablo 3 projects soon because I have a new project now. It's about the Star Craft universe. I won't disclose more info on this now.

First I'll try to edit my drawings with some programs to make them colored.
+
::Thank you for the wise words. Yes my dreams seem impossible at first sight. I don't really attempt to get a job at Blizzard or Bio Ware - I am just not qualified, I study Ecology. But what I really wish is to make my ideas alive. Yes people will see that I am creative. That's good. But If my stuff doesn't get appreciation from the professionals, then the joy will be the half. Yes I am happy that many people read my ideas, and they might be happy too. But that doesn't make my dreams real. I have a goal to reach and I see no reason to stop trying.
Then if I have time I will do something about Fan Monsters.

Man I'm so happy. I still can't believe that I have connection. Yeah, baby!
+
::Here's what I'll do:

See ya!
+
::I will rearrange the Characters background stories and then add them to Dragon Age wiki. That is the game that I think is more suitable for my stuff. Then on my user page and on all my existing materials here I will leave a message that explains my reasons to rotate and there will be a link to the new place they are posted. That's how Diablo fans will be able to see what I once created for them. Actually there are many pageviews here but zero comments, which doesn't make me so happy. I think it will be a good start after all. A new beginning. The only thing i am sorry for is that I will rarely communicate with you guys. I just hope we will still be friends and I will notify you if some good things happen in Dragon Age wiki. This is not a goodbye. Best wishes! --[[User:Veskin7 Bukito|Veskin7 Bukito]] 14:16, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

:::Hello!

== Any ideas? ==
+
:::The sad truth is that most people will never get their time as a game developer. You should not do things if your ONLY reason for doing it is to get THAT piece of info out there. Try to see each and every thing you do as a 1/1000 part to become what you want: Part of Blizz/BioWare.
Hi Leord! Can you please suggest some articles/places which need editing? I need something to do. :P -- 02:26, 23 April 2010 TheWanderer

:I may not be Leord, but: [[Special:WantedPages|Eat your heart out]]. (sidenote: Not all pages can be created atm, due to lack of information) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 14:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
+
:::Look here: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/2037540/1/Sketches?h=cf0060 I am pretty good at drawing, but it will take a LOT more drawings to get Blizz attention. Try to not get so hung up about these things.

:: Vipermagi, that wanted pages list is what I was working on for the past year. :D  To finish the rest, I need to read a few more of those Diablo books. :P Thanks for the reminder though, I'll work on a few redirects. --[[User:TheWanderer|TheWanderer]] 02:00, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
+
:::Also, people are generally crap at commenting. Don't let it drag you down. :)

::: Well, if you can help us update [[:Category:Characters|Characters]] with a little "[[:Template:Charbox|Charbox]]", like [[Deckard Cain]], that would be a great start. Also, many articles in the wanted list CAN be updated.
+
:::As for Dragon Age: They might not allow fan-made monsters there. Make sure you are allowed to add anything, or it might get deleted. Secondly, there's no point in deleting these ones.

::: I know you do a lot of nice updates, but you often forget (perhaps are unsure on how) to properly put in navigation and categories. I suggest looking at other articles of the same type and see how they did it, and also check out [[Help:Structure]], to get an idea of the category overall structure.
+
:::Everything you do is always one step to get better than you were, and there's never a reason to delete something old - just make new stuff! Or, perhaps edited stuff in this case, but in essence, that is then new!

::: Not everything there is set in stone, in fact most isn't. If you have good ideas for how to organise certain things, then don't hold back!
+
:::If you ARE allowed to make fan-made stuff on Dragon Age wiki, then do the re-writes, and re-upload stuff there etc, but also link back to the original articles as source. The more links you have, the better chance you have in a few years to get somewhere.

::: Another thing we need is really to summarise what we know of [[Act I]] and [[Act II]].
+
:::As for Ecology: Only 10% or so of original Blizzard employees actually have related degrees. Most people get a degree and then go and do something else. I don't even HAVE a degree! Don't let that put you down either. Just write, draw and all those things. Share with people.

::: At the moment I'm primarily going to work on Diablo II, and do random updates here, so anything is helpful - as always! :)--[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:21, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
+
:::BUT! Don't get hooked on the thought Blizzard or BioWare will magically pick you up, it doesn't work like that! You need to do your work for YOURSELF, because YOU like to do it, and then you have a chance of going somewhere higher. Blizzard or BioWare, or any other developer will NEVER take ideas from random people like that. You need to be happy with yourself, and then expand.

 +
:::Keep doing stuff, here or elsewhere, and keep getting your name out there. That's the only way to do it unless you have a university degree in game development, or graphics design. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 14:56, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

== Comming Back Soon ==

Hi everybody!

My exam session is about to end soon, so I won't be so busy. I will continue my work on my fan classes and monsters. There is lot to do.
+
::::I thank you man. I am happy to find out that you think in reality. What I am dreaming about... my friends say that I am crazy. They say "You are nobody! How do you expect to get their attention? How do you hope to tell them what to do and they listen?" Well i just don't give up and will definitely keep doing this.

By the way I wish to thank Leord once again for inviting me here. Thank you, man! This is my chance to show my work to the world and I deeply thank to all the people who appreciate my efforts.
+
::::Your words helped me out. The articles will remain here. The only thing changed will be a message explaining my reasons to try my luck in Dragon Age. :)

All the best! See you soon!

:::: You are so talented! Nice drawings! Keep it up! :)--[[User:Veskin7 Bukito|Veskin7 Bukito]] 09:05, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

:Yes, you've done an awesome set of monster, classes etc. Really cool! :) And look at the bottom of the pages, there's THOUSANDS of people who have seen them so far! :D
+
:::::Thank you! I really appreciate that! :) You are a good drawer as well as a good writer, and you should not give up. This industry works in mysterious ways. A good start - depending on what you want to do - is simply to keep writing backgrounds, stories and drawing concept art to get better and better and better. As I said, most people there are not in the company because of their university degrees, but for their interest and skill.

:Also, I will shortly be updating the navigation box at the bottom a bit, so it's not s obig and bulky, and people can see links to your stuff much more easily. :)
+
:::::You should also consider picking up 3D modelling, as Blizzard repeatedly have said they want their artists to be able to both make images as well as create those images in a computer later.

:Good job and great to hear! :D --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 11:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
+
:::::So, might be a good idea to DO modify the monsters and classes, and adding them as fan stuff on the Dragon Age wiki, but don;t forget to link back to the originals as "References". More links, the better ;) --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 09:34, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello there!
 +
we`ve been trying to contact You, so, decided to post here. The problem is, that at the moment we are developing an informal fan-site for the game Diablo 3 (Russia). We`re big fans of Diablo Wiki , and, actually often use your material. If it wasn`t Your help, our Bestiary would be very scanty.So.. we saw the post "Contributor Websites of DiabloWiki", and decided to cry out loud, that we`re willing to appear on DiabloWiki. We`d Love to be a Participating Website.
 +
Although we are just developing, the audience is gradually added. All the posts, taken from www.diablowiki.net have the link to native pages. Like it`s said - Linking and increasing Page Rank. Of course,we have Your link among the Friends of our site.  If there`s Anything You`d want us to Do - Please Answer! Our site - http://diablolive.ru/ .Help Russian fans - add us :)

::::Yeah, 1500 was a... slight hyperbole :) Good to hear the spambot(s) has (have) been stopped.

Hi Leord, I created a new page under "Current Events" in the Diablo Wiki II where I propose a challenge race while we wait for Diablo III to come out. What do you think?
::::I cannot delete pages. Way back then you couldn't find the user rights page, and then we derailed the topic I think. Oh well, doing fine without :P

== Good to See You Again ==

::::::But you forgot how to link ;) You guys should be able to make another usergroup that only has Delete rights, or anything else really. As for my interest, I still check pretty much every non-fanmade-space edit that pours through the wiki. I'm no good at adding content, though (what, where, how? No idea), so I don't make many edits. With new content comes new typos however, and that's the gist of what I've fixed up around here ^^
+
Hello. What are you guys doing? Hi, Leord, hey it's been a long time... :) Man I'm so happy to be here again! I've been away... away from everything I was doing here. I had to abandon my projects since I couldn't attract the attention of Blizzard, I could not make them take a good look on my stuff. Actually as I look back to these things I really see that I was not good enough. But I never stopped trying.
::::::So how about those navboxes you mentioned?

::::::EDIT: Oh. The class navbox, I presume. That's pretty awesome. Personally find it a tidbit annoying that the size of it changes dynamically due to the tabbing and different sizes of those, but it's a minor issue at best. Now to hope the spell names don't go too long so the box doesn't stretch in width :) --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 18:19, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

 +
When I left my projects, I was really sad, because I had lost contact with such nice guys like you, like Holyknight and everybody else.

+
I have to say that I was thinking about all of you pretty regularly during the last... two years? That long? Oh my... time flies.

::::::::What <!--uniques-->where<!--are they and where do they go--> and how<!--should it look-->? :p --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:12, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

==Uniques and Set Items==

Like [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Special:Contributions/Leord this], the Trang-Oul stuff etc. All those items. I have made some quite advanced templates for it, that will work for D3 later as well (hopefully).

:Did I get that right, miss anything? --[[User:Vipermagi|Vipermagi]] 16:29, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

 +
Anyway - with my projects I was trying to get a chance to study the things I want, but couldn't afford. I wish to be a Concept Artist and later - a 3D artist.

It describes my work for the last years. Actually I found out that creating such concepts is my passion. I am sorry, this is not something dedicated to Diablo of Blizzard, but you can still recognize me there. Probably it was crazy to do things like this again, but I guess that one day I will just do it right.

::::Massive love your way man. I'd really liked to have been done with it ages ago, but just have not had the time!
+
I hope you like this.

::::It may look a little bit weird without "background", but you can probably find most of the lore for these things, if they exist, in the D3Wiki, or else just leave it looking a little weird, and I can help with lore.

Check the site, tell me what you think, see if something is not working properly, and please stay in touch. And I promise you that as soon as I start studying the things I want, I will get back on the projects I left here, because they must be finished.

::::I suggest just making one piece of background for all of the pieces, and paste it in, to save time, that's what I did. --[[User:Leord|Leord]] 16:38, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Welcome 3[edit source]

I had to archive my talk page even further, as it was once again getting long. Welcome to the new one, feel free to leave any messages at the bottom of the page!

You can find the old ones above on the navigation. Please don't edit those one! :P If you want to continue on older topics, make a new one and bring it up like if it was a new one. I brought over a few topics that are a bit recent.

Cheers! --Leord 16:50, 12 July 2010 (UTC)--Leord 14:34, 7 August 2009 (CEST)

Yeah, 1500 was a... slight hyperbole :) Good to hear the spambot(s) has (have) been stopped.
I cannot delete pages. Way back then you couldn't find the user rights page, and then we derailed the topic I think. Oh well, doing fine without :P
Not sure which navboxes you are referring to. Haven't really looked at content pages lately because Blizzard hasn't really released anything (anxiously awaiting BlizzCon), so if you're referring to navboxes on content pages, I haven't seen them yet. --Vipermagi 18:59, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, I know how to do it now, but that means you'd have Admin rights. I trust you, but I don't think we can make you admin, as you're not THAT much in to the whole thing, and we haven't spoken that much... I'll have to discuss with Flux & Elly :) --Leord 16:32, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
But you forgot how to link ;) You guys should be able to make another usergroup that only has Delete rights, or anything else really. As for my interest, I still check pretty much every non-fanmade-space edit that pours through the wiki. I'm no good at adding content, though (what, where, how? No idea), so I don't make many edits. With new content comes new typos however, and that's the gist of what I've fixed up around here ^^
So how about those navboxes you mentioned?
EDIT: Oh. The class navbox, I presume. That's pretty awesome. Personally find it a tidbit annoying that the size of it changes dynamically due to the tabbing and different sizes of those, but it's a minor issue at best. Now to hope the spell names don't go too long so the box doesn't stretch in width :) --Vipermagi 18:19, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Personally, I don't mind much, but I can see your point.
As for edits, what about you perhaps help me with like making individual item pages for Uniques and Set items in the D2 wiki? It's a fairly straight-forward job, and mostly copy+pasting. Not likely you will make mistakes. ;) It's not great fun, but very very useful in the long run. --Leord 10:28, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
What where and how? :p --Vipermagi 16:12, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Uniques and Set Items[edit source]

Like this, the Trang-Oul stuff etc. All those items. I have made some quite advanced templates for it, that will work for D3 later as well (hopefully).

So I take, for example, BK's two swords. I put the two swords on the Set page in the new template (ex. here), create two new pages (1 per sword), and put the sword data and background in a mold (ex. here).
Did I get that right, miss anything? --Vipermagi 16:29, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Yes, awesome, it's amazing to ask someone to do something and they understand without massive explanations! :D However, if you do have questions on how some of the templates work, ask me. There might be info missing on the help sections. --Leord 16:31, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

I guess previous experience with content splitting helps a little ;) I'll drop you a line somewhere if I can't figure it out. --Vipermagi 16:33, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Massive love your way man. I'd really liked to have been done with it ages ago, but just have not had the time!
It may look a little bit weird without "background", but you can probably find most of the lore for these things, if they exist, in the D3Wiki, or else just leave it looking a little weird, and I can help with lore.
I suggest just making one piece of background for all of the pieces, and paste it in, to save time, that's what I did. --Leord 16:38, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
How do I list 1h and 2h damage in the Itembox? Looked around the code, but it seems to only accept two values; melee once and ranged once. BK's Sacred Charge can be wielded in one hand as well. --Vipermagi 17:05, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Long story short: I had to go (which is why I didn't get other sets done today), so I kept the edit hoping for the 2h/1h damage business to be explained, and now I have to shut down the computer. I'm going to save the edits, and check back tomorrow. Additionally, I'll probably split a couple other sets as well tomorrow. --Vipermagi 20:37, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Oki, seems I missed that then. I'll try to fix it asap. --Leord 09:18, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

I have updated the itembox now: Just use the same damage indicator as the old, but add "_1h_" in it. Juct check Template:Itembox for the legend of how to do it. Other than that, I also wanted to compliment you on your progress. Very well done! :) --Leord 11:54, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks (twice) <3 Updating BK's again. I plan to do one set a day, more if I have time to kill.
Also; I didn't know all sets were 1.10, so I ?'d that one. Meant to ask that, but must've forgotten. Well, you spotted it :) Will keep it in mind for the next set(s).
Something is causing a major break on Arcanna's Tricks, though. I have no idea what :( --Vipermagi 12:57, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

On it, will shortly make another comment here, just informing you I am on it, found the cause. --Leord 13:31, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Oki. First off, is there no chance to talk to you directly with icq or msn? Would make things a LOT easier! :P Secondly, I have a few comments. I do NOT know they are all Patch 1.10, but if you add a "?", it kind of fucks up. I am fairly certain they are all 1.10, so if they are not, more skilled people than us can update them imho. If we choose not to display patch, just comment out that choice instead of "?".
  • All items must have an ilvl at the moment, that is why some pages fuck up. I will fix it shortly. In either way, even later, make sure that ilvl is commentated out, not set to "?" as it fucks up the templates and categories.
  • Type = item type - What I mean is that "type" in the list is the sort of item, not slot. At one place you set "Main Hand" for type, where it probably needed to be "Sword".
  • Check out M%27avina%27s_Battle_Hymn, which is the closest to perfect a set can come.
  • Will get right on the ilvl bugs now :)
--Leord 13:36, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

FIXED! :) Now I'm just gona work on the categories, so they work when no ilvl is added.--Leord 13:42, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Oki, thanks for a nice chat on MSN. :) I have updated the articles Arcanna's Tricks articles, and set an example there. Now we just need to do the rest.
I will be focusing on nav boxes for the next few weeks, but I will be keeping an eye on what you're doing, and don't hesitate to contact me again on MSN or here. I'll see you tomorrow. :) --Leord 17:05, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

MSN[edit source]

You can add me on MSN if you want. I have my status set to Offline by default, and may or may not respond in a timely fashion. Left my adress in a comment. --Vipermagi 13:49, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Weeee! --Leord 13:55, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Monster Pictures DII[edit source]

I added some pictures to some demons at the d2 wiki, think most of the demons have pictures now. But for some reason I didn't manage to place the pictures correctly, they just ended up behind some text and what not. So i put them under statistics which probably isn't the best position, but what the hell, it's better than no picture at all! Someone who knows this better than me are free to fix it :) --Zukker 11:07, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh, brilliant. Should not have been missing in the first place, ofc! :) One idea is to simply put them at the very very top of the page, with this code: [[File:VenomLord.jpg|thumb|right|Venom Lord in-game]] Like, put it on the first line, and have just one line break before the rest of the text and wiki code. Take a look at Megademon for an example - I updated it.
Also, while you're at it, could you fix wrong headlines? Like when they have = instead of ==... You basically just add one "=" per headline. :)
--Leord 09:15, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Fixed both the images and the headlines, hope things look better :). There is a lot of monsters that is missing images. I'll see when I have more time on my hands to fix those.
--Zukker 10:10, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, cool! No rush, and we're gonna need to make more updates to monsters as well in the futures, to bring them up to quality with the D3Wiki monster pages. Great info gathering, but also good to get it all looking great as well! ;)
--Leord 10:14, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Set and Uniques[edit source]

  • poke*

Apologies for the late reply to you, my talk page spontaneously self-deleting didn't exactly help. I'd like to update item sets and unique items, but having looked through the bowels of the help section and whatnot, I can't find any templates. Are there any? I'm probably just useless and can't find them, but if you point me to them I can help you update some of the lesser used sets. (eg Hwanin's Majesty).

Thanks

--Ailelya 15:17, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey Ailelya! No probs mate. :) It might have been a situation where we had probs with backups in ancient times, but never the less, let's get to the topic at hand!
I have actually not yet made proper "templates" for these items yet (we call them boilerplates on a wiki though...). Me, Vipermagi (and sometimes Masofarian and/or Cogo) have done updates, and simply used older items as base.
Take a look at the Itembox. It's the main template used on item pages. It's way to complex for me to ask you to edit it, but if you look at the "Legend" there, it has all the variables briefly explained. Of course, you'd have to use slightly different variables on uniques than your average Item Set, but quite similar.
It's probably best if you try starting with creating an Item Set. The most polished one to use as a "template" for making new pages would be M'avina's_Battle_Hymn. Take a look at how the main page is done by clicking "edit", and then each sub-page, and do it as similar as possible. Just copy all the code to your new page, and start updating it from there. Don't be afraid to ask me or Vipermagi for help.
I hope this is not dropping you into the deep end of the pool, you seemed to be able to find your way around a wiki. If there's any questions at all, just ask! --Leord 15:26, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Uuuuhhhhh.
I've just finished doing the Hwanin's set - look in the [history] to see how badly I ballsed it up. This is my first time in a wiki!! The page is all working now, go look at it to see it now. ohhh... my precious...
I can do unique items, they are much easier. If there is a boilerplate for those, I'd be honored to be pointed to it.
I found the one for the sets: it was in the section about set items rather than the boilerplate section. If I can, I'll put a copy of it there too.
And to think all I have of the set is two copies of the weapon!
--Ailelya 18:14, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

If that's your first Wiki experiences, I am super-impressed! :) I'll help you with some pointers on how to do it in a bit, but that is an amazing start. There's some small things on how to make a wiki page that needs to be dealt with. Try to use the same headlines as that M'avina's_Battle_Hymn. You got all the complex and hard bits right though, which would have been more complex to explain. I'm very impressed. Get back to you in a few hours! --Leord 10:33, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Rotation[edit source]

Hi, Leord, I have news that you may not like.

I wish to thank you for your appreciation and all the help you provided. You are the best, man! And I really apologize for this. But I have to chase my dreams and seems like Blizzard are not going to help me.

--Veskin7 Bukito 15:52, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey Veskin7 Bukito,
I'm sorry you have received no replies from Blizzard, but I see no point deleting your content.
If you want to be part of the creative process of creating games, you need to get yourself employed by them. This is super-hard, but with the right motivation, you can do anything.
The content you have created here works as great inspiration to others, and creates a rich fan-environment. While it's unlikely any monster or class you created here will be taken on to a game directly (Diablo or otherwise), it's definitely possible that some ideas and concepts related to them might be. I think it would be a great shame to lose out of some of the community creations because Blizzard did not pick it up.
Besides, having some of your stuff published on a site shows that you have creativity and imagination. While you might not be able to use these monsters specifically - unless you create your own game - they work fine as a "portfolio" for you that you can link people and possible employers to.
You have spent a great deal of energy on these cool creations, and I think it's a waste to not let people enjoy them. Look at each page: thousands of people have seen them, and you get your name out there. That is one of the most important aspects to ever get a foothold in the industry.
Honestly, I think you should continue to make fan content while you are trying to get in to Blizzard or BioWare. It's great practice to make you better at thinking creatively, to draw and to write. Or, at the very least, keep these up as a permanent advertisement of "I am Veskin7 Bukito, and I am obviously creative!" --Leord 09:48, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the wise words.
Here's what I'll do:
I will rearrange the Characters background stories and then add them to Dragon Age wiki. --Veskin7 Bukito 14:16, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello!
The sad truth is that most people will never get their time as a game developer. You should not do things if your ONLY reason for doing it is to get THAT piece of info out there. Try to see each and every thing you do as a 1/1000 part to become what you want: Part of Blizz/BioWare.
Look here: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/2037540/1/Sketches?h=cf0060 I am pretty good at drawing, but it will take a LOT more drawings to get Blizz attention. Try to not get so hung up about these things.
Also, people are generally crap at commenting. Don't let it drag you down. :)
As for Dragon Age: They might not allow fan-made monsters there. Make sure you are allowed to add anything, or it might get deleted. Secondly, there's no point in deleting these ones.
Everything you do is always one step to get better than you were, and there's never a reason to delete something old - just make new stuff! Or, perhaps edited stuff in this case, but in essence, that is then new!
If you ARE allowed to make fan-made stuff on Dragon Age wiki, then do the re-writes, and re-upload stuff there etc, but also link back to the original articles as source. The more links you have, the better chance you have in a few years to get somewhere.
As for Ecology: Only 10% or so of original Blizzard employees actually have related degrees. Most people get a degree and then go and do something else. I don't even HAVE a degree! Don't let that put you down either. Just write, draw and all those things. Share with people.
BUT!
Keep doing stuff, here or elsewhere, and keep getting your name out there. That's the only way to do it unless you have a university degree in game development, or graphics design. --Leord 14:56, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

I thank you man. I am happy to find out that you think in reality. What I am dreaming about... my friends say that I am crazy. They say "You are nobody! How do you expect to get their attention? How do you hope to tell them what to do and they listen?" Well i just don't give up and will definitely keep doing this.
Your words helped me out. The articles will remain here. The only thing changed will be a message explaining my reasons to try my luck in Dragon Age. :)
The Dragon warrior was deleted but now is back. Links are alive.
You are so talented! Nice drawings! Keep it up! :)--Veskin7 Bukito 09:05, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you!
You should also consider picking up 3D modelling, as Blizzard repeatedly have said they want their artists to be able to both make images as well as create those images in a computer later.
So, might be a good idea to DO modify the monsters and classes, and adding them as fan stuff on the Dragon Age wiki, but don;t forget to link back to the originals as "References". More links, the better ;) --Leord 09:34, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Been a long time, old friend[edit source]

It's been a while Leord, how ya doing? how has the wiki been? I'm sorry i didnt help much, Diablo 3 didnt get any new info (as far as i know), so i just stopped. Just stopping by to remember the stuff i learned here, gotta do some things on another wiki. I'll maybe check whats new, maybe edit a few things... who knows.

P.S, forgot to sign.... as usual :)

Need a little help here[edit source]

Hello there! we`ve been trying to contact You, so, decided to post here.

The Last Race[edit source]

Hi Leord, I created a new page under "Current Events" in the Diablo Wiki II where I propose a challenge race while we wait for Diablo III to come out. What do you think? --Widus 08:27, 11 August 2011 (CEST)

Good to See You Again[edit source]

When I left my projects, I was really sad, because I had lost contact with such nice guys like you, like Holyknight and everybody else.

I have to say that I was thinking about all of you pretty regularly during the last... two years? That long? Oh my... time flies.

Anyway - with my projects I was trying to get a chance to study the things I want, but couldn't afford. I wish to be a Concept Artist and later - a 3D artist.

So months after I stopped working on my Diablo stuff, I resumed my work on some other old project of mine. I found a new inspiration and continued doing what I have been doing here - creating concepts.

Here is my new site.

www.wix.com/veskin7/veskin-sentinel

It describes my work for the last years. Actually I found out that creating such concepts is my passion. I am sorry, this is not something dedicated to Diablo of Blizzard, but you can still recognize me there. Probably it was crazy to do things like this again, but I guess that one day I will just do it right.

I hope you like this.

Check the site, tell me what you think, see if something is not working properly, and please stay in touch. And I promise you that as soon as I start studying the things I want, I will get back on the projects I left here, because they must be finished.

I wish for all of you a cozy, warm Christmas full of love and shared dreams. --Veskin7 Bukito 18:21, 9 December 2011 (CET)
