Mordecai was one of the fifteen mercenaries under the service of Captain Kentril Dumon in the novel Diablo: The Kingdom of Shadow.


The mercenaries escorted Quov Tsin the vizjerei in his quest to find the fabled lost city of Ureh in Mountain Nymyr.


Simon, Brek and Mordecai were the first three mercenaries to mysteriously disappear in the city of Ureh while celebrating among citizens. They had been killed and served to feast the dry husked citizens. Everything in the city was a magical illusion hiding the truth. The citizens were not alive nor quite dead, but unliving.
