Lore
Lyndon is a thief hailing from Kingsport, and a braggart who takes a more humorous approach to the game's setting. Leonard Boyarsky spoke of Lyndon in an interview with FZ.se:[1]
Gear
Gear
The followers in Diablo III are much more restricted in what they can equip from what we've seen in the mercenaries in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. The Scoundrel is able to equip bows, two-handed crossbows, two rings, one amulet and a Scoundrel specific item called Scoundrel Tokens at level 21.
Like the other followers, the Scoundrel has three tiers of gear progression, which are based upon level. The final tier of armor for the Scoundrel bears remarkable similarity to that of the Demon Hunter at later levels, the main difference being the Scoundrel's manly mustache.
Skills
Much like the player character classes, followers are able to learn a few skills or spells at specific level milestones. Not much is known about the skills, currently, besides their names and when they are unlocked. Players may choose one skill from each tier. Follower skills cannot be augmented nor benefit from runes, and they only have one rank, as opposed to player skills.
As the Enchantress draws many parallels to the Wizard in terms of spells, the same holds true for the Scoundrel, having many similar abilities to the Demon Hunter.
Unlocked at Level 10
Crippling Shot -- Ranged attack that slows the target by 70% for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 4 seconds.
Poison Bolts -- Ranged attack which deals 50% weapon damage as poison damage over 3 seconds. Cooldown: 4 seconds.
Unlocked at Level 15
Dirty Fighting -- Blinds enemies in front of the Scoundrel for 9 - 11 seconds. Any hit will break the effect. Cooldown: 10 seconds.
Vanish -- The Scoundrel vanishes in a cloud of smoke when injured, reappearing after 5 seconds. While vanished he will heal for 2030 Life. Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Unlocked at Level 20
Multishot -- The Scoundrel's ranged attacks fire 3 bolts at a time.
Powered Shot -- Powerful ranged attack dealing 250% weapon damage as arcane damage. The impact also causes an explosion 15 yards around the target, knocking back enemies caught in it, with a 50% chance to stun them for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 6 seconds.
Unlocked at Level 25
Anatomy -- Increases Precision by 10% for the Scoundrel and his allies.
Hysteria -- Increases Precision by 10% for the Scoundrel and his allies.
Fan Favorite?
Some fans critiqued Kormac as following too closely to the art direction of the WarCraft series, and others commented on the lack of clothing and pop-star sensibilities of Eirena[2]. However, Lyndon seems to draw unanimous approval due, perhaps in part, to his excellently-groomed mustache, armor theme similar to that of the gothic Demon Hunter, and the in-born charisma of a thief.
