The Sanctum appears to be a specific structure belonging to the Vizjerei mage clan in Caldeum. The structure is likely used for councils of the higher sorcerers of the clan, but no confirmation has been given if this might be a general structure for several clans or just the Vizjerei's mages.

There are infamous chambers called the Bitter Depths located under the Sanctum.
