The Summoner is a unique enemy in Diablo II. He was the Sorcerer in Diablo I and is now corrupted. The Summoner is a quest boss; he must be killed to finish the fifth quest in Act Two of Diablo II, and killing him is required to open a portal to the Canyon of the Magi and to learn which of the seven tombs of Tal Rasha is the true tomb.
