Zayl is a young Necromancer, hailing from the Eastern jungles. He has finished his apperenticeship, and travels to Ureh to study the forces at work there. His object is not for attaining life beyond death(a violation of The Great Cycle of Being), but to communicate with the Archangels.
During his exploration of the city, he comes across the skull of Humbart Wessel and reanimates it. The skull then becomes Zayl's companion in his search.
