Second Wind is a handy skill for Battlemaster Barbarians, lowering the damage you are gonna receive by a good percentage, and this is just the tip of the iceberg that is the Battlemaster tree. It is a constant passive and points spent into this skill will not go to waste even at higher levels. It is unknown if it will block damage from spells, but it can be assumed that it does.
