'''Darrick Lang''' is a hero in The Black Road Series of Diablo Books

==Background==

Darrick Lang had an abusive father growing up in the town of Hillsfar. Later on he escapes from town with his best friend [[Mat Hu-Ring]]. Later learns fencing from a master in [[Westmarch]]. While there after the death of his master, he joins the Westmarch navy along with his best friend Mat.

He is unable to escape from the mental anquish and is forever haunted by the voice of his father. Later on Darrick shows he is an excellent fight. Although insubordinate at times, and is eventually promoted to the rank of an officer.

While leading a mission to rescure the King's nephew from the Pirate Captain [[Raithen]] in Tauruk's port they witness the ex-Zakarum priest [[Buyard Cholik]] release the demon [[Kabraxis]] from the ruined city of Ransim which lies beneath the port.

Kabraxis sees them in their attempt to flee from his minions, and Mat dies from falling off a cliff. Feeling responsible for mats death, Darrick gives into drinking abd picking fights to drown his sorrows.

Failing to bord his navy ship in Westmarch, Darrick journey's from town to town until he ends up at Seeker's point where he jopins forces with [[Taramis Volken]] a demon hunter. he jorney's with him and picks up the sword Stormfury which has the power to kill Kabraxis.

Together they head to Bramwell with others, and with the aid of a badly burned Captain Raithens, and the ghost of Mat Hu-Ring. Darrick kills Buyard Cholik and the demon Kabraxis. However Kabraxis lays a curse on Darrick which gives him new healing powers. His sword Stormfury keeps him in balance.
