Axes are a type of [[weapon]] in Diablo III. No official details have yet been revealed about axes, but they have been seen one-handed as well as two-handed varieties in screenshots and gameplay movies, and it seems clear they are meant to be a popular weapon choice for the [[Barbarian]].

The Diablo III Barbarian's starting equipment consists of a hand axe and a [[buckler]] shield.
