Hello Elly, i would like to say thx for transferring the Artisan NPC article to the Artisan Article, this will make linking it easier... I didnt know how to do it myself, nor do i know if i even could do it and i didnt wanna infringe on a fanmade article. Poor, poor guy...

Anyway, im Leord's apprentice in a way.... i started editing since the Fury reveal and Leord was kind enough to teach me in the Sacred Art of Wiki Editing. Do you know where he went btw? seems like he dissappeared... Wiki seems a bit sad without him. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hello Elly,
I am new to the wiki but a long time follower. Was just wondering if any info from http://wowbox.tw/d3/index.php will be added to the wiki, as it contains a lot of info/updates of D3 beta. eg. Mystic - Myriam, Jewelers name, a ton of beasties and heaps of other info.

Either way I am always happy to help anyway I can.
Hey Elly,
Just curious why you removed the video's I linked a few days back in Media sections. I see other videos on this wiki but they lack updated visuals and wanted to add to the community with skill videos. If I'm breaking a rule on DiabloWiki please let me know. Thanks.

Hello Elly. Some time ago, I logged in IncGamers using Facebook. I've seen that feature has been removed and I can't log in anymore (my username there was the same one as here). I've tried to ask for help in the forums but I've received no answer. I've seen this topic http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?804127-If-you-used-Facebook-to-log-in-to-IncGamers
so I've come here. Thanks in advance!
:::yeah, mention them here or email me or leord or you can post them in the [http://forums.diii.net/forumdisplay.php?f=127 wiki support forum].

::::It's generally helpful to make redirect pages for caps or non-caps, since the wiki search engine is so stupid about case sensitivity. I've taken to mostly doing categories and page names in lowercase, just so I don't have to try to remember which ones are caps and which are not. Also note that one word page names are not case sensitive; monsters = Monsters, since the first word in a title gets capitalized automatically by the page title. -[[User:Flux|Flux]] 12:32, 5 April 2009 (CEST)
::::::::::Just saw this discussion and thought I'd chime in. The case sensitivity is unfortunate, and is actually an aspect of the server's operating system (Linux). When I first starting messing around in here, Leord mentioned to be that the general rule of thumb was to capitalize the first letter and lowercase the rest, unless they're proper nouns. I don't know if that still stands, but I agree it's not a big deal. BTW Flux, Protect and Delete are still hidden from users, so not all is lost. =]
:Hey, thanks for the offer.

:For now, I'd just like basic coverage of all the major (and minor?) D1 and D2 mods. I put some very quick paragraph summations about a few of them on the {{iw|Mod#Diablo_II_Mods d2 mods page}} a few weeks ago. I'd like to keep the descriptions on that page of about that length -- name of the mod, a sentence or two on what makes it special/different/unique, dates when it was being updated, links to official site/forum/download.

:Longer term, it would be nice to incorporate more of the mod info into the wiki. Maybe not every word of a mod's wiki, but at least to preserve the bulk of it; mod hosting sites come and go, after all. That content would go on a page devoted to that particular mod. We've got some more coverage of {{iw|Median_XL Median XL}} now, but it's kind of disorganized. Ultimately we'll get a proper mods navigation and boilerplate set up; so one of those nifty navigation tables would show the essential mod features and such.
== Template:Skillbox ==
Hey there,
I wasn't able to change the image width for every picture in the Skillbox (might be to stupid D:) well ... the thing is, every skill displayed is way to small. <p>
And its Awkward to edit every image :/ --[[User:Nija|Nija]] 06:06, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

:The skillbox needs a makeover, now that all the skills are active and there are no more skill trees. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but I'll include enlarging the default thumb image width on the to-do list.

:I'm debating doing a trait box along the same lines, for insertion into every traits page. I don't really want to, but that probably means it's a good idea. --[[User:Flux|Flux]] 11:11, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

::Okay, that wasn't too hard. I removed the tree field from the skill box, and all skill box profile images should appear at 200px by default. You can still specify smaller if you wish; if all we have is some tiny pixelly image from a gameplay movie, for instance. --[[User:Flux|Flux]] 11:36, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

:::Cool, works out. Is it possible to make an exception so the smaller images show the max. size they have? And the [[trait|traits]] site... '''list of known traits''' is kinda out of place there (so mixed , and actually the same data as when you go on the pages) ,a new category so all traits automatically go in that page would be an idea. Do you have an instant messenger / irc or something like that? --[[User:Nija|Nija]] 06:56, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

::::There might be a way to do that with the profile image size, but I'm not the tech guru to manufacture it. It's just a default width (was 100px, is now 200px) or else something custom specified. And yes, the main traits page needs an update. I'm going to update that list with a master traits list on that page once I finish the individual pages. Every trait in the game listed, with just the shortest of description and which chars have access to it. Why? Why not. Might be fun reading. Plus I have a word file now with a table listing every trait that I've been cross referencing while doing the traits pages, so it'll be fairly easy to prepare.

::::Please send me a forum PM or flux@incgamers.com for personal communication. General wiki questions can be asked here, or you can use [http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=127 the wiki support forum], if that's easier. More people see them there, though this user talk page keeps a visible archive for longer.

::::OT, but I find it interesting that everyone adds new messages at the bottom of this page. Why not at the top? Newer issues on top would make sense, and be easier to see. I guess it would feel rude or non-chronological to jump ahead of other comments? --[[User:Flux|Flux]] 09:38, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

:::::Might be the fact that the + automatically sets the text to the bottom ;). I didn't meant it negative, i just wondered that you do the single sites first, because it would be easier to see which you have done on the traits site. Well, i actually can't help that much anyway, since i don't have the game or any trustworthy sources :<. --[[User:Nija|Nija]] 10:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
::::::Oh, all the traits have been up for a couple of weeks. On the [[Barbarian traits]], etc pages. And giving Bliz forever the option to add more about future events/issues/expansions/etc. <br>--[[User:Flux|Flux]] 04:12, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
==Hello==

What is the policy concerning taking content from blizzard.com/diablo3?
Also there is an error in <nowiki>{{Key pages}}</nowiki> under Boss monters; <nowiki>[[Champions]]] should be [[Champions]]</nowiki> --[[User:Brokenstorm|Brokenstorm]] 22:32, 7 July 2011 (CEST)
:Blizzard's content info is considered canon and should be quoted and cited whenever possible. Quoting Blizzard.com content is like quoting game content, though of course some of the stuff on the website is out of date at this point.

:I was going to say anyone can fix typos, but then I realized you meant on the main page, which is protected for admins only. Incidentally, that page is going to be fully redone fairly soon. It's out of date and needs to be expanded, but big complex table pages like that are such a pain to rework in a wiki that I've been putting it off. --[[User:Flux|Flux]] 08:27, 8 July 2011 (CEST)

::I figured as much. :P
::On a side note, it may be good to add a "Diablo 1 Wiki" on the left-hand menu even if it only points to the main D1 page on diablo2.diablowiki.net. I was also wondering why all the videos are half resolution on the Diablo3Inc youtube channel?--[[User:Brokenstorm|Brokenstorm]] 19:19, 12 July 2011 (CEST)

:::The side wiki nav bars are also on the list of big changes needed. Those have been delayed partly for technical reasons, as some new wiki software updates have long been planned, and they allow some other/better/different tools for side nav bar options. Sorting options for the user and such. <br>--[[User:Flux|Flux]] 21:45, 12 July 2011 (CEST)

<blockquote>We have everything about D1 in the wiki. All monsters, items, quests, levels, skills, etc. I did almost all of the pages myself a couple of years ago, using stats from Jarulf's Guide (where needed) and lots of my own memories from thousands of hours of play time. Plus it's all organized and there's a very useful page bottom navigation menu.
<br><br>
The ironic thing is that looking at the link you provided, and comparing to [http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/D1_Unique_Helms#Veil_of_Steel the D1 unique item coverage we have]... the intro text is identical. And I wrote all that intro text, in mid-2008, according to the history on the page. Compare something like the Gotterdamerung, with the same comments, including the joke about its D1 nickname, and it's quite obvious that all of those wikia pages are direct cut and paste from the ones we did here.
[[Kotuur's Brace]] is a [[legendary mighty belt]] that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can only be worn by the Barbarian and will very seldom be found by any other class.

The belt has no [[legendary affix]] but it has the unusual bonus of +5-11% block chance at level 70, making it very useful for Barbarians who use a shield. There are also inherent bonuses to Strength and Armor, making this a very defensively-tilted piece of gear.
[[Band of Untold Secrets]] is a [[legendary ring]] that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can be found and equipped by any class.

The [[Smart Drop]] system ensures that this ring will usually roll with the [[mainstat]] appropriate to the class that finds it. Rings are considered an offensive item, and most players insist upon bonuses to [[Critical hit Chance]] and/or [[Critical hit Damage]], while seeking [[mainstat]] as well.
Legendary Gems (or LGems or LeGems) were added to [[Reaper of Souls]] in [[Patch 2.1]], after extensive testing on the [[PTR]]. There are 14 types of Legendary Gems, all of which add a special bonus when socketed in rings and amulets. The value of the bonus increases with each rank the gem is upgraded, up to a maximum of 25, and at that level a special secondary power is unlocked.

While the developers are calling them "legendary gems" these socketables have nothing in common with regular [[gems]] in stats or appearance, and are more analogous to the {{iw|Unique_Jewels Rainbow Facet unique jewels}} of Diablo 2. The main difference in Diablo 3 is that these gems can only be socketed in jewelry, and the way the gems can be upgraded to improve their functions over time.

==Rules of Drop and Use==

Legendary Gems:

* Are dropped only at rank 0 and only by [[Greater Rift Guardians]], the final boss found in a [[Greater Rift]].
* Drop quite commonly (100% drop chance), but players will never find two of the same type of legendary gem if they have one already on that character or in their stash.
** To find more than one of the same gem, you need to put the first gem on another character.
** This is actually a benefit to players seeking a specific gem, since holding the other types you won't find any duplicates.
* Can only be socketed into rings and amulets - not any other item types.
* Only work when equipped on players. Do not function when equipped on [[followers]].
* Can only be upgraded with [[Urshi]], the NPC who appears only in [[Greater Rifts]].
** Upgrade odds are entirely based on the level of the Greater Rift and the level of the gem.
** If the level of the Grift is more than 10 higher than the rank of the gem, the odds are 100%. If the Grift is more than 7 levels lower than the gem, the odds are 0%. Full odds listed below.

==Upgrade Odds==

Upgrade odds are determined entirely by the difference in level between the Greater Rift in which Urshi appears, and the rank of the legendary gem.[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blizzard-tracker/devthread/us/14058816325] If the level of the Greater Rift is higher than that of the gem, the odds of the gem gaining a rank are increased. If the level of the Greater Rift is lower than the gem, the odds decrease rapidly.

{|
| 1%
| 0%
|}

Examples:
* GRift level 17, LGem level 5 = +12 = 100% chance of successful upgrade.
* GRift level 22, LGem level 14 = +8 = 80% chance of successful upgrade.
* Grift level 22, LGem level 24 = -2 = 15% chance of successful upgrade.

After players kill the Greater Rift Guardian they can use Urshi's interface to either upgrade the GRK (which will go up at least 1 level, and possibly more if they had a very fast run), or to upgrade a Legendary Gem. One or the other, but not both, so when players choose to upgrade a LGem, they can not upgrade a GRK and continue escalating that series of Greater Rifts.
The stats of Legendary Gems changed constantly while they were undergoing development on the PTR. A major revision was created on July 15, 2014 with new or upgraded stats for almost every gem.<ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/legendary-gems-ptr-placeholders Legendary Gem Updates] - John Yang, 15/07/2014</ref> More changes came August 5th with a patch that changed the [[Enforcer]] gem, and completely reworked the upgrading system, changing legendary gems from 50 to 200 ranks. <ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/diablo-3-ptr-2-1-0-patch-notes-5-august/comment-page-1?cpage=1#comment-8649488 Legendary Gem changes] - August 5th PTR Patch 5/08/2014</ref> Another patch later in August reduced the total ranks, removed multi-level upgrades, gave 3 chances to upgrade, and changed the secondary property to unlock at rank 25.

See the individual Legendary Gems pages for details on the evolution of their stats over the PTR testing period.

==Gem Upgrade Development==

The system was under construction all throughout the PTR and saw major changes during July and August, 2014.

Gems initially had 50 ranks, with the odds to upgrade[http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-general-forums/diablo-iii-general-discussion/90337-community-effort-legendary-gem-upgrading-effects] increasing on higher Greater Rift levels. This was reworked after a few weeks, and a patch on August 5, 2014 changed the maximum level from 50 to 200 and greatly increased the odds for multiple rank boosts per upgrade, as well as granting multiple upgrade opportunities on higher level greater rifts. <ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/diablo-3-ptr-2-1-0-patch-notes-5-august/comment-page-1?cpage=1#comment-8649488 Legendary Gem changes] - August 5th PTR Patch 5/08/2014</ref>

<blue>Legendary gems now start at rank 0
* Changes have been made to the frequency at which Legendary gems are upgraded
** Note: Because of this change the power of each upgrade has been reduced, but the overall rate at which gem power is gained through upgrades should remain roughly the same</blue>

That system was changed again late in the PTR, with the ranks cut from 200 to 25, and a whole new system of upgrade odds implemented, based on the difference in level between the gem and the Grift. Those odds were the final system which went live a few weeks later.

==Legendary Gem Design Theory==

[[File:Urshi-interface-sml.jpg|thumb|350px|Legendary Gem upgrade interface.]]
Blizzard's John Yang explained the design theory behind Legendary Gems while they were being tested on the PTR, July 15, 2014. <ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/legendary-gems-ptr-placeholders Legendary Gem Updates] - John Yang, 15/07/2014</ref>

<blue>Hi everyone. I wanted to pop in here while discussion on Legendary gems is ongoing.
<br>
First off, our philosophy on Legendary gems is that, when you pick one up for the first time, you should immediately want to use it, assuming it’s for your build, since some gems don’t apply to all builds/needs. This puts a minimum bar on the starting power level. After that, the power increase per upgrade is directly related to the frequency of upgrading, which is closely tied to the Greater Rift reward scheme and is still being iterated on. In the end, we’d like gems to be infinitely upgradeable when it makes sense, but not be outrageous.

Additionally, all Legendary gems have been disabled for followers. These powers were not designed for followers in mind, and this way we can ensure the gems are of a high power level because you can only have 3 equipped. In the future, if followers need avenues of advancement we would likely make Legendary gems specifically designed for them.

Now for the details. The existing stats you see on Legendary gems on the PTR today are somewhat placeholder. So, to steer further discussion in a direction that’s more in line with the next PTR build, here are the freshly tuned numbers (with some of my notes) for each gem.</blue>

==Official Reveal==

Legendary Gems were first revealed in June 2014 and the first official info came from Blizzard's Patch 2.1 preview blog.
<ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/blizzard-reveals-diablo-3-patch-2-1-preview Patch 2.1 preview blog] - Diablo3.com, 18/06/2014</ref>

<blue>Legendary Gems are still undergoing significant iteration at this time, so you won’t see them available on the PTR right away. The gist is that these gems are infinitely upgradeable, and provide special Legendary powers when socketed into the appropriate gear slot.

They can only be socketed into Rings and Amulets, and can be upgraded by completing additional Greater Rifts. The higher you place in a Greater Rift, the more likely your gem will be successfully upgraded. We’ll have more details in the future as we continue development on these powerful baubles, so stay tuned!</blue>

Duder: Updated stone of vengeance image to current version

[[File:Legem-zeis-stone-of-vengeance-icon.jpg|left]]
[[File:Stone of vengeance.jpg|thumb|350px|Zei's Stone of Vengeance, rank 0.]]

[[Zei’s Stone of Vengeance]] is a [[Legendary Gem]] findable only from [[Greater Rift Guardians]] in [[Reaper of Souls]].

Legendary gems can only be socketed in rings and amulets worn by a character (not by a Follower) and provide dramatic and powerful bonuses that are huge upgrades over any normal [[gems]] in the game.

All legendary gems improve with upgrades to rank 25, which can only be obtained via the NPC [[Urshi]] who appears after the death of a Guardian of a [[Greater Rift]].

==Gem Properties==

The description of this one has proved very confusing. The damage increases .05% per gem rank AND the damage stacks up to 5x for each 10 yards distance from the target. So a Rank 10 gem would deal 4.5% increased damage, and that would increase up to 5x, for each 10 yards between the character and the target. So at rank 10, 10-19y = 4.5% damage, 20-29y = 9% damage, 30-39y = 13.5% damage, and 40-49y = 18% damage, 50y+ = 22.5% damage.

{|
|
'''Zei’s Stone of Vengeance'''
* {{c_orange|Damage you deal is increased by}} {{c_blue|(4.00+Rank*0.05)%}} {{c_orange|for every 10 yards between <br>you and the enemy hit. Maximum of {{c_blue|(20.00+Rank*0.25)%}} increase at 50 yards.}}
* Upgrade rank grants: +0.05% for every 10 yards.

* Rank 25 unlocks:
** 20% chance on hit to Stun the enemy for 1 second.

{{c_gold|''Legend says this gem was crafted by Zei to torment fleeing enemies. <br>Other legends claim that Zei never existed.''}}
|}

<blue>Bliz Note: The max of 50 yards was added not because it was too powerful (even though it was too powerful), but so that you wouldn't be incentivized to stay offscreen while your pets killed everything. At 50 yards, I expect you to be in range to actually still use your skills (crazy right?).</blue>

==Stats at Higher Ranks==

All Legendary Gems improve from rank 1 up to rank 25, with additional stats for the primary bonus, and the extra bonus property unlocking at the maximum upgrade rank of 25.

* '''No rank:''' Damage you deal is increased by {{c_blue|4%}} for every 10 yards between you and the enemy hit. Maximum 20% increase.
* '''Rank 1:''' Damage you deal is increased by {{c_blue|4.05%}} for every 10 yards between you and the enemy hit. Maximum 20.25% increase.
* '''Rank 2:''' Damage you deal is increased by {{c_blue|4.1%}} for every 10 yards between you and the enemy hit. Maximum 20.5% increase.
:Yes, we try to archive game changes, so if you update pages with patch changes try to retain the previous info. Usually it's quick/easy to just create a section at the bottom of the page called "Post-Release Changes" and paste the previous info into there. Those earlier versions will still be floating around on some characters, after all. And it's just generally interesting for visitors to see how items have been changed over time.

Duder:

The ''Stonefort'' is the second level in Act Three. It is a surface area atop the towering [[Bastion's Keep]], composed of numerous narrow ridges and battlements, mixed in with larger open areas atop the castle walls.

There are no sub-dungeons or varying events or quests in this area, and all the quests and events will only load if this area is done by a player running the full quest. If a player runs this area having already completed the quest, none of the catapults need be raised and there are no NPCs to dialogue with.

Stonefort is reached through the [[Skycrown Battlements]], or by the Stonefort waypoint, which is the first one in Act Three (other than the one in town). Stonefort is a long, zigzagging level with no major dead ends or detours, and it does not connect to any other areas. Players must use a Town Portal to exit the level.

==Quests in {{PAGENAME}}==

Stonefort houses the [[Turning the Tide]] quest in [[Act III]], which requires players to assist NPC soldiers in raising three catapults. These three events may be shepherded individually, but experienced players generally race right past the first two, after clicking the NPCs enough to start the quests. Those catapults will raise on their own without direct player involvement, and will finish around the time a player reaches the end of the level.

The third catapult, found very near the end of the level, does require clicking to facilitate (and greatly accelerate) the lifting process, an operation cursed by the most annoying, nagging NPC in the entire game.
==Trivia==

This area became much more important in [[Patch 1.0.5]] when the [[Infernal Machine]] was added to the game, since [[Xah’Rith the Keywarden]] is found in some random location within the Stonefort level. Players can usually find him just by racing through the main portion of the level, but he may also spawn up on the various side turrets and levels, so a more thorough exploration may sometimes be required.

==Map==

Stonefort is like all surface areas in Diablo 3, and has a static, fixed layout that does not vary between games. There are no random events or sub-dungeons on this level, though the placement of all monsters, chests, and other clickables varies from game to game.

How to have an internal link going to a category? i wanna make a link to the Jewelry Category, but i cant, because if i specify category, it sends the word jewelry to the categories at the bottom of the article. and if i dont specify its a category, then it links to Jewelry article, and that doesnt exist... please help. --[[User:DxAxxxTyriel|DxAxxxTyriel]] 11:08, 4 April 2009 (CEST)
:put a : in front of the name, inside the brackets, and it will not make that a link to the category. Add the "pipe trick" like you do with any other link.
:Leord and I have had "add a bunch of basic wiki tips and tricks to the help page" on our to-do list forever, but there always seems to be something more pressing. Wikipedia.org has exhaustive help pages, but they're so long that it's hard to find what you want. :: Thx mate... And is it possible 2 rename articles? 2 articles need to be renamed, nothing serious, just so it they are Correctly Written... with caps in the right spots...

:::::::::I was under the impression that only admins could use the move, protect, and delete buttons? If move is open to all, then yeah, that's an easier way. Moving a page automatically creates a redirect link from the old to the new. -[[User:Flux|Flux]] 23:18, 5 April 2009 (CEST)

== Template:Skillbox ==
Hey there,
I wasn't able to change the image width for every picture in the Skillbox (might be to stupid D:) well ... the thing is, every skill displayed is way to small.

:::::Might be the fact that the + automatically sets the text to the bottom ;). I didn't meant it negative, i just wondered that you do the single sites first, because it would be easier to see which you have done on the traits site.
How about it? It seems you have all the Diablo 1 info in the Diablo 2 Wiki. But how about you guys put a Diablo 1 Wiki link in the Quick Links section, move the Diablo 1 info there and make the Wiki look more complete.

This item does not have a [[legendary affix]], but starting in version 2.1 it was updated to have 5 primary affixes. Movement speed is still one of the default primary affixes. Movement speed can be useful to new characters, but players with sufficient Paragon levels can always gain more by [[enchanting]] that to a good primary affix and then making up the movement speed with Paragon Points.

All legendaries, including set items, found before [[Patch 1.0.4]] buffed them, are [[legacy]] items. These older legendary items have generally much lower stats than the current versions, and Legacy set items have different names than the current versions, to avoid confusion.
[[Dread Iron]] is a [[legendary mighty belt]] that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can only be worn by the [[Barbarian]] and will very seldom be found by any other class.

==Dread Iron stats==

The belt has no [[legendary affix]] but is jam-packed with other affixes. All four Primary slots are taken by inherent bonuses to [[Strength]], [[Movement Speed]], [[Armor]], and [[Reduces Damage from Elites]]. The best long term strategy is to enchant the Movement Speed bonus to something more useful, such as All Resistance, Vitality, or a Skill bonus, since MS can easily be made up with Paragon Points.

There's even an extra secondary affix, with Ignores Durability Loss, plus two random secondary affixes as well.

In version 2.1 it was updated to have 5 primary slots and 2 secondary slots.

* All stats listed in the database scale up to the level of the belt when dropped.
* See the sample screenshots below to see how this belt will roll at level 70.
